We hope these Grace Notes will add hospitality and meaning to our worship as we gather in a spirit of unity, respect, and love. We find our desires rubbed against the unknown, and as a maiden watches for her mistress We focus our eyes, steadfast, on You. Come to our aid and help us. Where we are fractured and frayed, repair us. Where we are weary, uphold us. In the tidal waves of memory, and dust and damage, be the sea of grace on which we walk on water to you. Be the last word of hope and the first sound of joy. While we live with these aftershocks, be our firm foundation. 3 Love is patient, kind and caring, never arrogant or rude, Never boastful, all things bearing; love rejoices in the truth. When we re caught up in believing war will make the terror cease, Show us Jesus way of living; may our strength be in your peace. May our faith in you be nourished; may your people hear your call. May our lives be filled with courage as we speak your love for all. We will begin with an introduction to Mincha, (a brief afternoon service) which includes the reading of the Torah. Followed by light refreshments from 7:15-8:15 p.m. and an opportunity to ask questions and have conversations. We will end with the brief ceremony that marks the conclusion of the Jewish Sabbath. Recalling the Sukkot harvest festival offering in the Torah, we encourage all in attendance to come with a Gaily Decorated Basket of Fruit and Vegetables which will be ceremonially offered and placed on our pulpit during the service and then delivered to the ICA Food Shelf. The service will last approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity to visit our outdoor Sukkah.
