2 Page 2 In the ball park with Brother Andy Andy Boyd During the dates of Thursday, March 29 - Sunday April 1, I am most honored to participate in the Spring Kairos Meetings which will be held at Dooly State Prison. A team of 40 pastors and Christian laymen will pour the love of God into 42 inmates currently serving time in Dooly. This will be a life-changing experience for all of us. Many will pray to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. I am so honored to ask you for the following types of support in the AGAPE MINISTRY of KAIROS. Prayer Agape Register for this on your computer.!in your browser enter: on: Prayer Vigil!Click on: Check out a list of prayer vigils!scroll down to: Dooly State Prison!Click on: Dates on the far right side!sign up for an available time slot. During the weekend, the inmates are shown the prayer calendar to demonstrate the love of Christians praying for them as we are meeting. Brown Agape Each participant from the outside is requested to bring 12 dozen homemade cookies to the weekend. These cookies should be baked, cooled and placed 6 cookies in a small ziplock bag. (We cannot bring aluminum foil or any metal pans into the prison and no powdered cookies.) Place these cookies in the baggies and then into a small box. I ll pick these cookies up at church on Wednesday, March 28. Paper Agape Children in the Sunday School classes are asked to make cards with artwork for the inmates. These cards can say things like: God loves you, Jesus loves you, I m praying for you!. The cards should be signed by the children first name only and age. For instance: Sara age 8. I ll pick these up when I get the cookies. Green Agape Each participant is asked to contribute $125 for the weekend. If you wish to contribute on my behalf, please make your donation to Byromville Baptist Church on or before Sunday, March 25, Mark Kairos Ministry in the lower left hand corner. I will be thankful for any amount you give. Grace Plus Nothing study continues This tremendous study continues each Wednesday evening at 7:00 m. The participation remains strong, although we are missing a few who began the study. (no guilt trip intended!) Please remember: YOU DON T HAVE TO DO IT -YOU GET TO DO IT! I ll see you this Wednesday. I ll see each of you on Sunday, with a smile on your face, a song on your lips, joy in your heart, a kick in your step, a friend by your side, and a tithe check in your pocket. Love to you! 3 Page 3 A grace funny Dear Church Members: The Dooly County Department of Family and Children Services sincerely appreciates your generous contribution to helpmeet the needs of families and children during the holiday season. With your help, 106 families, which was a total of 241 children and 10 elderly, received food and gifts this year. On behalf of those families, we say thank you. All funding came from private sources. We could not have done it without your hel We appreciate your continued support of our agency and concern for those less fortunate. We look forward to working with you again next year. The West Virginia trip is set for July Presently, no date has been set for the Clarkston trip, but most likely it will be some time this summer. For more information about the trips including the costs, contact the association at Prayer assemblies March 6 Cordele First Church, Lakeshore Church and Lakeview Church are hosting associational prayer assemblies March 6 at 7:00 m. Remember to pray for the pastor search. A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates and says, Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in. Okay the man says, I attended church every Sunday. That's good, says St. Peter, that's worth two points. Two points? he says. Well, I gave 10% of all my earnings to the church. Well, let's see, answers Peter, that's worth another two points. Did you do anything else? Two points? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans. Fantastic, that's certainly worth a point, he says. Hmmm..., the man says, I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart. That's wonderful, says St. Peter, that's worth three points! THREE POINTS!! the man cries, At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God! Well, come on in! 4 Page 4 Here s an event for everyone. Invite your friends, family and acquaintances. Conference leader Dan Darden will be addressing issues of interest to anyone involved in relationships. And who is not? He will deal with the following issues from the centrality of the Gospel: gaddiction gdisturbed emotions gidolatry gpoor communication/conflict resolution skills gunforgiveness The nightly schedule will be supper at 6:00 m. and services at 7:00 m. A nursery will be provided. Everyone attending will be blessed by the worship and biblical teachings. After graduating from Valdosta State where he played varsity baseball, Dan entered the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant and served until He then earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA, He has served as a Senior Pastor and Minister of Education since entering the ministry in He also worked in the Georgia Mental Health and Substance Abuse system from 1995 to 2001 as a Mental Health Professional and Certified Addiction Counselor. About Dan Darden Dan joined the staff at Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church in 2001 and has served as an associate pastor and Director of Christian Counseling Services. Born in Tallahassee, FL, Dan spent most of his early years in Birmingham, AL. He moved to Macon, GA in 1969, graduating from Southwest High in He graduated from Valdosta State in 1975 with a BS in Psychology. Dan enjoys playing the guitar (especially the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s), writing music and occasionally playing golf. He and his beautiful wife Sandy live in Monroe County with five dogs and a cat.

Bob teaches physics and chemistry. Ladies you will love this Welcome to the world Davis Joshua Davis Peavy, Jr. was born February 7 at 11:00 m. He weighed 3 lb. 14 oz. and was 16 inches long. Congratulations parents Caroline and Josh, grandparents Robin and Mark Peavy and great grandmother Virginia Lockerman. Anne Graham Lotz will be the featured speaker at this year s Georgia Baptist Women s Spring Event on April at Callaway Gardens. After 18 weeks and 700+ hours of intense training, he received the Peace Officers Standards and Training Certificate.
