POLICY FOR CERTIFICATES OF ELIGIBILITY In order to receive a Certificate of Eligibility to be a Godparent/Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, you must be a practicing Catholic registered in the parish. If married, you must be married in the church. You must attend Mass regularly. The use of your envelope each week will tell us that you are attending regularly. This will avoid problems or embarrassments in the future. MARRIAGES Arrangements must be made one year prior to the marriage date. Please call the Rectory. SOLEMN EUCHARISTIC ADORATION is held every Tuesday at 12 noon, the Eucharist will be exposed then and the Miraculous Medal Novena begins. 3 RELIGIOUS ARTICLE SHOP Queen of Ireland Religious Article Shop located in the sacristy behind St. Joseph s altar is now open. Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 5:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday 8:30 am to 1:00pm.Two volunteers, Werner Koppen & Kathy Arensmeyer have stepped forward to work our new religious article shop. We are very grateful but need more help to give more hours to our customers. If you would like to volunteer to expand our hours of operation please call Werner Koppen at We are also accepting donations of Religious Articles and Books for the shop. WOMEN S RETREAT Catholic Daughters, Court Giese #439, is looking for women for a Women s Retreat, March 11-13, 2016 at San Alfonso Retreat House, 755 Ocean Ave., Long Branch, NJ. SUPERMARKET GIFT CARDS Gifts cards for ShopRite and Acme are being sold as a fundraiser for the Church. The Church receives 5% of every purchase of the gift cards. The gift cards can be used for your personal shopping or they make great gifts for family and friends. They can be purchased after all of the weekend Masses (at Atlantic St. door), at the rectory during the week from 9 am to 3 pm and at Sunshine Flower Shop during business hours. ART PARTY FUNDRAISER A Fundraiser for Gloucester Catholic Lady Rams Softball Team will be held at Tavern on the Edge, Gloucester City on January 22nd, 6:30-8:30 pm., for adults, $40 (cash only). 1 complimentary drink of your choice and all art materials. The Lady Rams Softball Team will also sponsor a bake sale on the weekend of January 23/24, The proceeds of these two benefits will held to defray the costs for a softball tournament in Myrtle Beach. Thank you for supporting Gloucester Catholic GOOD SHEPHERD SCHOOL Good Shepherd School will host a Catholic School Week Open House on January 31st from 12:00-2:00 P.M pm is Social Hour! Families will gather in the cafeteria for a brief talk by the school principal and enjoy good food and school friendship. 1-2 pm families and visitors will visit classrooms, talk with teachers and view student work that has been done over the past year. The Student Council and Advancement Director will be giving tours to any new family that visit. 4 NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING Natural Family Planning Courses will be held on Thursdays evenings, February 11th, March 10th and April 7th from 7:15 to 9:30 P M in Voorhees. 6 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Our Father, We seek you in so many ways and places in our life. We seek you for guidance and for comfort. But you have told us that when there is hunger, it is up to us to feed the hungry. We ask you to help us see you in other Christians and humbly ask you for strength in the search for what we have in common. Bless our efforts to look at all the ways we are united in faith, and grant us courage to change our hearts and minds to realize your will. We ask all this through Christ our Lord and brother, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
