9 ST. LAWRENCE SCHOOL His Banner Over Us Is Love Dear St. Lawrence School Families, St. Lawrence School s 2017 Talent Show last Thursday was a huge success! Our performers had such a wonderful me, and it was so magnificent to watch these students share their talents with our school community. I would like to thank Ms. McLaren and Ms. Ba aglia for all of their work to organize and run this exci ng event. I would also like to thank all of the parents who helped to make this show run so smoothly. Congratula ons to all of our talent show performers! The fi h graders had an amazing me on their Camp Stella Maris trip last week! These students shared in so many posi ve experiences that I know they will always remember. I especially enjoyed watching them conquer their fears as they par cipated in the pole climbing and zip line challenge, and I was so impressed with their crea ve acts that they prepared and performed during the karaoke compe on. I would like to thank our Camp Stella Maris chair, Ms. Morales for organizing and running this event, as well as all of her parent volunteers who helped throughout the day. I also want to thank Ms. Cilano and Mr. Itri for their constant presence and support at the camp. Finally, thank you to all of the parents for a ending this trip and helping to make this a posi ve and successful experience for our fi h graders. As we approach the end of the school year, we are looking for feedback regarding your child s experience at St. Lawrence School. We are asking all families to complete a brief online survey about the school year. You can access this survey at h ps:// The password to log in is survey2017. All surveys must be completed by Friday, June 2nd. If you have any ques ons, please feel free to contact our school office. Thank you for taking the me to complete this survey! This week, our students are par cipa ng in I-Ready Tes ng. These are online assessments that help our teachers assess student progress in ELA and math. Each of these tests takes approximately two class periods to complete. There is one ELA test this week and one math test next week. These tests are not in any way factored into your child s report card grade. There will be no morning Accelerated Reader in the Learning Center this week or next week so the computers can be used for these assessments. If you have any ques ons, please feel free to contact your child s teacher. This month nineteen of our second grade students celebrated their First Holy Communion. We are all so excited for them to have the opportunity to receive the Eucharist together as a class during our Ascension Thursday mass this week. Our second grade families will be having a small celebra on in the second grade classroom to honor these students immediately following this mass on Thursday. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of St. Lawrence School, I would like to congratulate these second graders and their families! I hope that you all have a pleasant week and a relaxing and enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend. As always, thank you for all that you do for our students. God Bless, Frank Arvizzigno Principal 9
