Our challenge to you this year is to remember to be on the look out for items we can use for our Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission project. It s not too early to start bringing items in. Please remember everything needs to be able to fit inside an average size shoe box. Things with multiple uses are encouraged. Here is a list of things that are needed. Toothbrushes, soap, socks, winter and work gloves, winter hats, simple tools, jump ropes, clothes pins, bandanas, small cloth bags, pillowcases, washcloths, sewing kits, activity books, storage containers, sunglasses, underwear, duck tape, playdough, plastic cups, bowls, utensils and plates, water bottles, compact mirrors, stick deodorant, nail clippers and files, gardening kits, chalk, fabric (1 to 2 yards), ribbon/ thread, hairbrushes and combs, safety and sewing scissors, crayons, blank index cards, notebooks and washers. Bring your items to the fellowship hall and place them in the mission cabinets, to the left of the soup cabinet.
3 We will be having our Open House and Registration for the Fall 2018 classes on Tuesday, March 6th from 6:30 to 7:30 in the preschool rooms. Come meet the teachers, talk to the board members, tour the classrooms and register for the next school year! February is a favorite time for preschool! We LOVE sharing stories, singing songs, learning about kindness, and LOVE. We LOVE time with our friends. We LOVE each other. We LOVE Jesus and He LOVES us! On February 13th and 14th, we will be having our Valentines Parties in the Fellowship Hall. Also, in February, the preschool will be having our 2nd Paint Night (afternoon) on Sunday, February 25th, 2018, in the Family Life Center. We will be "Coloring Our World". It is a fun time for everyone, and all the proceeds go to support the preschool. Tickets go on sale February 1st. Please watch your Sunday bulletins for more information! Kim Compton, Preschool Director Kids Place News Kid s Place is off to a great start! Our kids are acting as movie stars with our curriculum The Bible: Lights, Camera, Action while we learn all about the major roles in the Bible, from the creation, to Egypt, to the tomb. We are finding all about who the star of the show really is! Our memory verse is, Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. (Psalm 119:105). We are continuing to have fun with our classes, Bible studies, and our recently added Mission Days. So far we have made cards and cookies for the police officers and firefighters of Sherman and designed place mats with some words of encouragement and faith for the Chili Cook Off. We have many more projects planned to help the kids at Kid s Place give back and learn how to serve just like Jesus did. Continued prayers are always welcome!, Director Camp Sonshine News It may be cold outside, but plans for Camp Sonshine 2018 are underway! Our theme this year is Bugs. Many people may be scared of bugs, or find them gross, but they are part of God s creation. We will use them to teach the campers that it s the little things that can make a big difference! Our verse this summer is The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. (Psalm 19:1). Stay tuned for more information! Registration is set for previous camp families will be Tuesday, March 20 from 6:30-7:30 in the fellowship hall. We will call waitlisted families with any openings left. You can call us at ext. 8 or us at kpattendance@yahoo.com to get on our waitlist. Registration papers can be printed off of our website, Stay tuned for more information!, Director
