MASS Saturday: 5:00pm Sunday: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00noon Weekdays (Monday - Saturday): 9:00am PENANCE Saturday: 4:00 pm And by Appointment BAPTISM Baptisms are scheduled for 1:30pm on specific Sundays. Catechesis for parents is required. Please call the Parish Office to register for Catechesis. Baptisms may only be scheduled after attending Catechesis. MARRIAGE You must meet with a priest at least one year beforehand to schedule the date and time of your wedding. The wedding date is finalized only by meeting with the priest. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK Those who are sick, homebound, or in the hospital are a vital part of our Parish family. 3 From Fr. John 4 th and 5 th grade to Join Us Next Sunday Next Sunday, at the 10am Mass we will be joined by the 4 th and 5 th grade students of Religious Education. I look forward to being with you as I enjoy all our grade level participation Masses throughout the year. The kids are the best!! God Bless them all. Of course, we send our blessings to their families as well for making the time and effort to provide their children with this foundation in faith. Ushers Meeting Monday, January 22 nd, 7:30pm- Church - All ushers are encouraged to be present. Also, anyone interested in serving as an usher at Mass is invited to attend the meeting as well. Liturgy Committee Saturday, January 27 th, 10am Rectory Conference Room - While we will continue the ongoing conversation about Sunday Worship, this meeting will primarily focus on Lent and Easter. Pastor s Advisory Group Tuesday, February 6 th, 7:30pm Rectory Conference Room - This group of 9 advises the pastor (as the name implies) on a wide range of topics regarding parish life. Most recently, we have focused our attention on Youth Ministry and we will dedicate a portion of this meeting to Youth as well. Old Palm Once again, this year, all are invited to return their old palm to us. The old palm will be burned and used for ashes on Ash Wednesday. Please return the palm and place them in the receptacle provided in the Children s Liturgy Room. To allow enough time for burning the palm, please return them no later than Sunday, February 4 th. Ash Wednesday is just a few short weeks away on February 14 th. Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an international ecumenical movement that was started over 100 years ago right here in the Hudson Valley by Fr. Paul Wattson, founder of the Graymoor Friars. The week of Prayer begins on January 18 th, the Feast of the Chair of Peter and concludes on January 25 th, the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. We join our prayers to those of the all Christian Churches and remember that the prayer of the Holy Spirit, as Unifier, is that all may be one. Eternal Father we praise you for sending your Son to be one of us and to save us. Look upon your people with mercy and give us the Spirit of Jesus to make us one in love. 4 LENTEN RETREAT DAY WITH SISTER DANIELLE BARAN, CR The Fran Boylan-Holy Spirit Food Pantry would like to thank the parishioners of Holy Spirit for your generous donatios during the holidays. We had bery busy months and are still in need of shelf stable food for our clients. Some suggestions are: shelf stable milk, canned fruits & vegetables, hot and cold cereal, soup, coffee, tea, pasta, tuna & peanut butter. Thank you again for your continued support. PARISH PAY USERS This past October Parish Pay transitioned to the We Share Giving on Line Program. In previous bulletins, you were advised that the first time you enter the new system you would have to go through a one-time validation process. For those of you who have not verified your information, kindly go to our Parish website: holyspirit-cortlandtmanor.org and click on the On Line Giving Program link; click on verify my account and follow the instructions. If you have any problems, please contact our parish representative at We Share, Kelly Lawrence at X2544. Additionally, you will be receiving two contribution statements this year. Parish Pay will be sending one for the period January 1, 2017 to October 5, 2017, and We Share will issue one for the remainder of the year. It is also time to celebrate CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK! The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2018 is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service. The annual observance starts on Sunday, January 28th and runs until Saturday, February 3rd. Our schools typically celebrate Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and the community at large. Below are the dates and times for Open Houses at our Northern Westchester and Putnam Catholic elementary schools. We welcome you and your families to visit our schools and see firsthand the true value of a Catholic education. We hope that you will stop by! The group Array of Hope ran the Retreat with a multi-media presentation, witness talks, prayer and games. Parents returned for a talk. Candidates joined their families for Mass. We appreciate the support of our parents.
