1 Bartlett Note From the Pastor One of my favorite seasons is summer. I enjoy gardening, golf, yard work, time at the beach, grilling out, relaxing on the back porch, and playing with my grandson. But the real reason I love summer is spending time with God and nature. I love taking walks and praying, listening, and talking with Him. Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; Thanks to one and all for your participation in the Smith family bathroom project. Through your prayers, donations, and other Chapel News you will know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect. Romans 12:2 I realize when I make bad decisions and think more about my needs instead of others needs that it is because I haven t listened to God. When I take walks and listen, God tells me about new possibilities that I never would have seen without Him. My boundaries and limitations fall away, and I start to see the victories only possible with God. efforts, we were able to fix and remodel their bathroom so that it is now accessible to everyone in the family. It was a big job! The bathroom roof was replaced, some of the floor joists were replaced, the ceiling and wall drywall were replaced, walls were moved, and new insulation installed. Also, a new shower, vanity, lighting, and all of the associated plumbing and electrical wiring were installed, along with new wider doors, new flooring, and two new windows. God provided the additional support we needed when we needed June 2013 I am starting to see these God possibilities here at Bartlett Chapel. We have so much love to give and so many who need to be shown it. I hope you will join me in listening to God. Spend time alone with Him and allow Him to guide your choices and decisions each day! I really believe that if each of us stay close to God and listen, we don t need to worry about our future! I hope each of you also enjoy the summer. 5 My dear, loving Bartlett family, After sitting here for a long time, thinking that God didn t give us any words to describe quite what it feels like to receive something like the beautiful prayer quilt, the warm fuzzy lap blanket from Sunday School, all the cards, phone calls, s, thoughtful gifts, food, etc., that so touches you it dawned on me that yes, He gave us one word that totally sums up the feeling LOVED! Know why? Because, through all of you, I feel God! The Bible only gives us that one word love to describe God. God is love. Pretty simple! Thank you all for allowing God to speak to me so simply through you. It is such a blessing to know that no matter how complicated life seems sometimes, God and His love are not! I love you all more than any other words can describe! To love and be loved is to feel the Son from both sides! God Bless, Ginger Arnot Dear Bartlett Chapel, I would like to thank the youth and their parents for volunteering with Project Homeless on April 24. THANK YOU S The overwhelming participation to help sort clothing and serve in this ministry by our young people greatly touched my heart. Your work for the Lord will make a great impact on many. In Christ, Ed Calton, Project Homeless To our Bartlett Chapel family, Laura and I would like to thank the church for the beautiful wedding shower. It was wonderful to see everyone for the shower and for all the love and support given for Laura, as well as for the beautiful gifts that were given. We are very thankful to the Lord for our church family. Sincerely, Brenda Wyant & Laura Wyant Dear Bartlett Chapel, I would like to thank the Griffiths and the youth group for mowing my lawn. I also would like to thank Mari Howard for assisting me with transportation while I have been recuperating from my foot surgery. May God bless you all! Brenda Wyant Dear Bartlett Chapel, We would like to thank Kay McClain, the United Methodist Women, Terry Wildman for our auctioneer, everyone who donated & purchased purses, and all of the volunteers who made the Ladies Tea & Purse Auction a success. Thank you to all of you for taking time out of your day to come and be with us and to help us. The day was awesome and hopefully all of you had as much fun as my mom and I did. Of course, I got to play Vanna White for a couple of hours! We feel so very blessed and thank God for all of you and for all of the gifts he has given us. With so much love, Nikki Tsakrios Barnes & Ruthanne Tsakrios To my friends at Bartlett, Thank you deeply for all the cards, visits, and prayers since my fall in February. Therapy and prayers have really been a savior. I really do appreciate them. I am not at 100% recovery yet, but I am working to get there. Love to all in Christian Love! Rex D.
