For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. 4

8 THANKSGIVINGS FOR PASTOR JEFF AND HIS FAMILY 15 years ago on the first Sunday of Advent Melissa and I celebrated our first Sunday at Messiah. Our family was just beginning then, with Benjamin just a six month old baby boy. Our family has expanded since those days with Joseph and Rachel - and more - we count you the parishioners of Messiah as our family as well. Thank you for allowing us into your hearts and lives so many years ago. The word advent literally means "coming toward" - God always coming toward us. Thank you for being the advent of God for us 15 years ago. We so look forward to the years ahead as we continue striving to be the community of disciples that God has called us to be. Peace to you our Messiah family. Almighty and eternal God, so draw our hearts to you, so guide our minds, so fill our imaginations, so control our wills, that we may be wholly yours, utterly dedicated to you; and then use us, we pray, as you will, and always to your glory and the welfare of your people; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A parent using their services has on their list a clothing item and a toy/personal request for each of their children, along with a request for a grocery store certificate.
