Becky Zeigler just does such a great job! I also want to thank you for anor great year as well. On Far s Day, I finished my 21st year as your pastor. I have nothing but good things to say about this church and its people. You have always been so gracious and caring to me and my family. I cannot say thank you enough. I am also excited about our next grandchild, McKinley Rei Wilder. Brent and Jeanette are du on August 6th. Pray for our family for a healthy beautiful baby. We are so excited for Brent and Jeanette. 3 Student Ministry News We have already had an incredibly busy and fruitful June. VBS was a great week in life of our church and our Student Ministry. I want to thank Carla Lucas for leading youth class. This class has become a much anticipated week in our Student Ministry. Our big event for month of July and Summer is Community Changers. Community Changers is coming up week of July This is our week of doing local service and mission projects. The cost to be a part of this week is $25. If you have never been to Community Changers before I encourage you to be a part of it this year. We have a lot of fun and it is also a life changing week. This year we will host Community Changers in our church facilities. That means that we will have as many as 50 students on our campus and sharing love of Christ through acts of service during week. If you would like to be a part of Community Changers please see me for registration information. Parents and or adults, we are always looking for volunteers for Community Changers week. If you have a day or more that you can help us in supervising our projects or a night or two that you can stay with us please let me know. I want to go ahead and thank Ronnie Dasher, Cathy Nates, and Buck Brazell for time that y are giving to Community Changers. Most of all we covet your prayers for Community Changers. Sewing Party July 30, :00am 1:00pm We will be making dresses for girls, shorts for boys, and bags for medicines. The Kenya Mission Team will take dresses and shorts to to children in our orphanages. The medicine bags are used during medical clinics. Items you can bring to help: Portable Sewing Machines Irons and Ironing Boards Pieces of Cloth Ribbon Scissors/Straight Pins/Needles Thread/2 Gallon Plastic Bags/Yarn Every one can help-wher you sew or not re will be something you can do. Please join us we plan to have a sewing party each month until August or until we have a lot of dresses, shorts, and bags to take to Kenya.

5 Hot Topic. The wear person is predicting a cool down all way down to mid-nineties. Wow, aren t we lucky? I remember when I was a little girl my granny would say it s hot enough to fry an egg on cement porch. I say it s hot enough to stay out of kitchen period. Seriously, it is too hot to go outside and risk one of most dangerous side effects of summer getting over heated and possibly having a HEAT STROKE. Unlike heat cramps and heat exhaustion heat stroke is a true medical emergency and can be fatal if not treated quickly. Now I know not a one of you is guilty of getting out in middle of day to cut grass, weed garden, feed pets or work in flower garden. Right? Wrong answer. Because on occasion as I am out and about I have seen you and actually stopped a few times to say get back in house. You know who you are. Know facts. Those that are at risk include elderly, infants, those with diabetes, heart and lung disease, athletes, outdoor workers, people that take certain medications, you, me.bottom line all of us are susceptible. Certain medications may put you more at risk for a heat stroke: examples are antihistamines, diet pills, diuretics, sedatives, tranquilizers, seizure medications, heart and blood pressure medicines like beta blockers and vasoconstrictors. If in doubt check with your doctor or pharmacists to see if you are taking any medicines that may increase your risk. To prevent a heat stroke you should stay inside if heat index and temperatures are high. If you must go out be sure to wear loose light colored clothing, a wide brimmed straw hat, apply sun screen and drink fluids without caffeine. Common symptoms of heat stroke include absence of sweating, red or flushed skin, rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting, skin cramps, difficulty breathing, confusion and sometimes agitation. What to do? Call 911. Get victim to a shady area, Remove clothing and get cool water on skin with cool compresses, mist or use water hose. (Gently though!) Fan victim to promote sweating and evaporation. You may also place cool gel or ice packs under arms, on back, neck and groin areas. So remember watch wear and notice heat index and any heat warnings. Stay inside but if you are tempted to go outside remember someone may be watching you me!!! Please pray for this team as we leave on Sunday, September 11 at 2:30 pm. We will fly to Washington, DC, n to Zurich, Switezerland and into Nairobi. We will spend night and n fly to Kitale and n to Turkana for two days. We will n fly back to Kitale and spend four days. Then we get on our van and head to Kissi and spend three days with Charlie at St. Karen s Smith Orphanage. Then we will travel to Narok for a day and n back to Nairobi for two nights. We are going to have a great time! We will fly out of Nairobi on Friday night, September 23rd at 11:10 pm, arrive in Brussels, Belgium at 6:30 am, fly out of Belgium at noon arriving in Washington at 2:26 pm and leaving Washington at 5:10 and arriving in Columbia at 6:37 pm on Saturday, September 24th. We want to thank you for all your support of our trip and we have raised a great deal of money because of your generosity. If you would like to help with expenses you may continue to do so.
