7 Upcoming The flowers on the altar are given to the glory of God by Opal Hallman and Jerry Phillips. If you would like to place flowers on the altar to the glory of God and in honor or memory of a loved one, or in celebration of a special event or occasion. A sign up poster and payment envelopes are located on the large downstairs bulletin board just outside the church office. The cost for the flowers will be $56 for a beautiful arrangement. Choose the Sunday you would like and fill your name in on the chart. Then take a payment envelope located next to the chart, fill out all the information on the front, insert your payment for $56 and place the sealed envelope in the offering plate or drop in the mail slot located on the office door next to the bulletin board. Or you may simply call the church office. Please note that certain dates will not be available such as communion, Advent and Lent. Children s Sunday school classes begin TODAY! Age appropriate classes are located on the third floor of the education building. Wednesday Night Life continues this week. See This Week s Activities for details. If you have dietary restrictions (e.g. gluten-free), please let John Hammond know. Suggested donation: $5 per person, $20 maximum per family. Children 5 and under eat free. We will be having a Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event THIS Wednesday, September 23 rd at 6:15 p.m. in the fellowship hall immediately following the Wednesday Night Life supper. We need volunteers to work in teams at each packaging station. Volunteers set up and take down packaging stations and equipment, fill bins with raw ingredients, scoop ingredients into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, box and stack them on pallets, and load the pallets and equipment onto a truck. We need several strong volunteers who are able to lift 50 lb. bags throughout the event. Please let Sharon Stricker know if you are able to help in this way. The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix that includes 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. The meals are shipped throughout the world to support school feeding programs, orphanages, and crisis relief. The food is stored easily, transported quickly, and has a shelf-life of two years. We sincerely hope that everyone will want to participate in this fun and worthwhile event! To avoid congestion at the registration tables on the night of the event, we are asking you to please register online at The cost is just.29 per meal packaged. Our goal is to package 10,152 meals. In order to accomplish this goal we need to raise $2, Donations can be made online at the site listed above or you may write a check to FPC and mark it Stop Hunger Now. Operation Christmas Shoebox - It's the time of year that we start gathering supplies for our shoeboxes while supplies are on sale! This year we will pack 100 boxes! Please bring items such as toiletries, crayons, markers, small note pads, tooth brushes, small games, etc. to the Fellowship Hall or Church Office. The boxes will be packed in November.
