Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Please call the parish office as soon as possible to arrange for the celebration of this sacrament for those seriously ill or in danger of death. Funeral/Christian Burial Arrangements with Parish Office must be completed before setting a date and time for the service. Communion Calls Please call the parish office if a Eucharistic Minister is needed to bring Holy Communion to a homebound or confined parishioner. Annulments Tribunal-Advocates are available to help you find healing from the pain of divorce and convalidation of a new marriage in the church. For more information, please call the Parish Office. All returning and new students must fill out a new application for the upcoming year. 3 FEBRUARY 18, 2018 From today s Genesis reading: "When I bring the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I will recall the covenant I have made between me and you and all living beings..." Reflection: The rainbow is not to serve as a reminder to us of God s covenant with us. Instead, it is a sign to God, a "reminder," that no matter how far adrift we go; no matter that we might forget God, the author of Genesis says, God will never forget us. So we ask ourselves: - Do we believe that nothing can separate us from the love God has for us? - What effect does that have on how we see ourselves and those around us? GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP Have you suffered the loss of a loved one? You are not alone. Even in the midst of all that has happened to you, in a support group you ll find kind and loving people willing to listen and support you while you support other members. You ll discover there is hope and healing. We live in a culture that often avoids mourning, and you may be left feeling very alone. Let us help. We meet the third Saturday each month from 10:00 to 11:30am in the JPII Youth Center of Our Lady Star of the Sea church. The group is available to all adults experiencing all types of loss. HOLY TRINITY MUSIC MINISTRY Psalm 92 begins: It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. You need not come to church morning and night. We don't insist our instrumentalists play the lute or the harp. But if you can sing or play an instrument, let us welcome your talent. Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in serving in this very important ministry. We are in need of servers, at all weekend masses, both adults and children at least 10 years of age. All children must have received First Eucharist in order to serve. We are asking that you prayerfully consider serving in this ministry. We welcome both male and female servers and family members who choose to make this a family ministry. CRUCIFIX: SPIRITUALITY, ART &THEOLOGY Wednesday, February 28, 7:00pm, Social Hall The image of Jesus on the Cross has moved and inspired Christians for centuries. How did it begin? 5 FEBRUARY 18, 2018 FAITH FORMATION Due to the 3-Day weekend, there are no PreK- 8 Faith Formation classes on Sunday, February 18. See you all on the 25! All Faith Formation Families are Invited to our Youth Stations of the Cross on March 2. Station reflections will be youth oriented. HOLY TRINITY PRAYER CORNER May Lent be for us a time of learning to see where Christ is crucified today, a time of learning to recognize the complex roots of injustice, to recognize the Gethsemanes in our global community. May we witness the suffering of God s children as Mary witnessed her beloved son s suffering. May Lent be for us a time of learning to become an Easter people, a time of learning to recognize the deep roots of compassion, to recognize we too are called to witness the empty tomb and to announce to a world in despair the Hope of the Resurrection.
