2 THANK YOU Thank You to all the volunteers and donors for Make-a- Difference Day. We baked and decorated 1793 cookies for the Franciscan Shelter and the Jeffersonville Soup Kitchen; made 300 scarves and some toboggans and donated socks, gloves and miscellaneous items for the Christmas party at the Franciscan Shelter (700 are served); wrote over 200 Thinking of You cards to our sick, homebound, elderly and in nursing homes; sent hundreds of rosaries, books and other religious items and handmade cards by Mrs. Huber s students to our troops; and filled Exit 0 Ministries huge truck with all the warm donations for the homeless. May God bless all our loving and caring parishioners. November 19, 2017 - Thirty third Sunday in Ordinary Time Peter - Cornerstone of Catholicism In the final session we discussed the importance of early Christian tradition in regaining our Catholic

Tradition teaches that the home of a Roman Senator named Pudens was his base of operations. When the persecution under Nero increased, the early Christian community insisted that Peter leave Rome.

Peter then realized he was called to return to Rome and to pick up his own cross. The Cross is part of a greater narrative. It is a crucial component of being on The Way with and toward Christ.

The Church, guided by St. Peter and his successors, leads the faithful toward a better understanding of the cost and meaning of discipleship. Thanks to all who participated in our recent Bible Study. Our weekly study and lively discussions brought us a deeper understanding of who Peter was the fisherman to whom Jesus entrusted his Church. St. Peter, pray for us. COMMUNITY INFORMATION Providence Jr. Sr. High School hosts Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 2 in the school s cafeteria, 707 Providence Way, Clarksville, from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Deanery children ages 1 to 9 and their families are invited. Activities include Christmas music, treats, and crafts and a visit from Santa. The Providence Popcorn Players Christmas Theatre Troupe will perform at 9:30 am. The event is sponsored b the Providence Girls Soccer Team and Popcorn Players. Free of charge. Donation accepted.
