Hannah is a Milwaukee-born, Wauwatosa-raised, University of Wisconsin-Madison alumni with degrees in History and English. She spent a year as a YAV volunteer teaching 8 th and 9 th grade English and History at the Chawama Community School in Zambia. Hannah had planned and hoped for an international service opportunity for many years and felt thrilled to make that dream manifest with YAV.

2 Upcoming Events... It is E2F (Empty to Full) Spring Drive! It s E2F (Empty to Full) time again and you know what that means! Pans, along with ingredient lists and recipes, will be available for pickup on Sunday, April 8 th. Volunteers will shop, prepare, freeze (do NOT bake), and return the meal by the following Sunday, April 15 th. Pans will be provided to the Homeless Connections shelter to ensure clients receive a hot meal each evening. Any pans not taken on Sunday will be left in the church office. The church office is open Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for pick-up and drop-off. We look forward to another successful E2F drive and your participation! Home Meal Ministry FPCN is organizing a Home Meal Ministry! We are looking for donations of smaller sized (for one to two people), cooked then frozen meals that will be provided to our homebound members. These meals do not have to be complex or gourmet. Simple soups, crock-pot meals, or casseroles are always welcome. Small aluminum (meatloaf sized) pans are available in the church office. Please mark each pan with Home Meal Ministry, the date and meal, and then, just let the church office know you ve placed a pan in the large kitchen freezer! Luther College Collegiate Chorale performs at First Pres Neenah The Luther College Collegiate Chorale will be performing at First Presbyterian Church Neenah on Sunday, April 15 th, 4:00 p.m. This is the final stop on the group s 2018 spring tour. The ensemble is made up of 100 select junior and senior singers (our organist, Blake Doss, is an alumnus of this ensemble). A free-will offering will be taken at the performance. Conducted by Jennaya Robinson, Collegiate Chorale s program this year is Prayers for Peace, including works by Kim Andre Arnese, Moses Hogan, Jake Runestad, and more. Don t miss this opportunity to hear an outstanding college choir perform in our Sanctuary! Friend s Class Join our next Friend s Class on Friday, April 20 th at Noon for lunch followed by a presentation led by Kim Patterson, Brookdale Senior Living. Kim will discuss the importance of hydration and demonstrate how to calculate fluid needs. Reservations are needed for lunch and can be made by calling Bev McCaughey ( ) or Carol Houston ( ). The cost is $7.

In last week s Church Bell Newsletter, we mistakenly stated that the Mandala in South Asian Art and Practice class would take place this coming Sunday please note that class will be offered on Sunday, April 15 th. Apr 8 Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) Led by: Hannah, Weinberg-Kinsey The Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program is an ecumenical, faith-based year of service for young people, ages 19-30, in 22 sites around the world and in the United States. YAVs accompany local agencies working to address root causes of poverty and reconciliation while exploring the meaning and motivation of their faith in intentional community with peers and mentors. YAVs serve during the academic year, August to July. Join us and learn more about the YAV program as well as hearing personal stories from our guest speaker. Apr 15 The Mandala in South Asian Art and Practice Youth Christian Education Sunday April 8 & am PreK thru High School Heifer International Mission Project Fellowship Hall Lead by: Michael Baltutis, Associate Professor, South Asian Religions, UW-Oshkosh The religions of Hinduism and Buddhism have long utilized an intense visual language that clearly communicates complicated religious messages within a familiar cultural idiom. At the same time, however, many of these images of gods and goddesses with many arms have been equally baffling to Westerners. The image of the mandala, however, seems to be a more accessible image: a circle (that s the simplest translation of the word!) that is designed, drawn, and displayed in Hindu festivals, used as an image to structure and celebrate Nepali cities, and meditated upon by Buddhist monks. This session will display examples of the mandala, drawing upon images and experiences of the presenter in his travels through the Hindu and Buddhist communities of India and Nepal. Karl E. 4 Presbyterian Women... Spring Gathering The Presbyterian Women s Spring Gathering is right around the corner! This year s meeting takes place on Saturday, April 28 th beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Sheboygan (1429 N. Fifth St., Sheboygan, WI). The meeting will feature guest speaker, Susan Ingels. Susan will share her experiences as a Global Exchange participant to Indonesia. The PW of the Milwaukee Presbytery will be joining us! Displays from your church are welcome. Registration forms can be found in the church office or at along with instructions. Program cost is $10. Mission & Outreach Spring Is In The Air! Or, at least we hope it will be soon! Even if our WI weather doesn t know it, Spring IS approaching and soon it will be time to plant our JUST.GOOD.FOOD gardens here at the church! The food from our gardens is placed at the Neenah Police Dept. in the JUST.GOOD.FOOD stand built and donated by FPCN volunteers just last year. God calls us to serve our neighbor and that is just what we do through the distribution of good food to others. If you would like to get involved in any aspect of planting, watering or harvesting, please contact the church office ( ) or Cindy Huxtable (chuxtable@new.rr.com). Planting will begin in May but now is the time to start thinking about serving in this unique and important way. Young Adult Fellowship Young Adult Mission Project The FPCN Young Adult Fellowship group will be constructing a shed for Habitat for Humanity on Sunday, June 3 rd, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. We invite all, ages 20 to 35, to help. No prior experience is necessary. All you need to do is show up with a hammer in hand. We will meet and build in the church staff parking lot. Mission Trip to Hazard, Kentucky Our Senior Presbyterian Youth (SPY) Group will be departing for Hazard, Kentucky on Saturday, June 9 th and returning on Saturday, June 16 th. The group will help to construct new homes and to remodel existing homes. Join the SPY Group on Mission Trip Sunday, June 24 th at 9:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary, as they will provide pictures and stories about this mission trip. Please support the SPY Youth Group by eating lunch at the HotDogfest on Sunday, April 15 th. All HotDogfest proceeds will be used to support SPY on this mission trip.

I was in Ames, Iowa. Most of you, I would guess, were here in the Fox Cities. Hannah Weinberg-Kinsey was in Zambia, working with churches there through the Young Adult Volunteers program of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She will be here this Sunday to talk about her experiences there, and how they have affected her faith and life. The YAV program is one of the best-kept secrets of our denomination. The program is for young adults (hence the name!) ages 19-30, and they serve for one year in different places all over the nation and the world. When they return, they go on to become some of the most dynamic leaders in the church. Please come this Sunday to hear Hannah. She will be preaching at both services, teaching the High School and Adult Class at 9:00 a.m., and meeting with the youth right after church. I m looking forward to being bowled-over, once again!
