OFFICE HOURS 8 AM to 4 PM, M F 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, PA Phone: Fax: Publicity Requests: Asbury United Methodist From Pastor Eric If you were in worship last Sunday (6/22) you received an insert in the bulletin with information on our Growing Asbury movement. There is also information on our website - just click on the Growing Asbury image on the home page and it will take you to the pages regarding this movement. The Growing Asbury movement is designed to help our church live into our mission statement to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This mission statement comes from Jesus command in the gospel of Matthew known as The Great Commission. Many of us are familiar with that command but may not understand what making disciples is all about. Making disciples means that we bring new people to faith in Jesus and we help new and seasoned believers grow in their faith. This is why we exist as a church. God has given all of us unique gifts and talents to be used in the church. The closest people will get on earth to being in the presence of Jesus is when a group of Christians uses their various gifts, talents, backgrounds, experiences, and education together to further the kingdom of God. When we are working together as the body of Christ we will see lives changed and communities transformed. In order to turn this vision into a reality, we need everybody to be a somebody in this body of Christ. So would you help us grow Asbury through you prayers, presence, gifts and services? Together, we can grow Asbury and live out the great commission. See you in church! Check it Out! Over 50 folks from Asbury have been hard at work making meaningful improvements. Find out what they are doing by visiting Youth Annual Mission Trip to Philippi, WV is July 13-19! Our project this year is to complete a home by installing windows, doors, plumbing and electrical, and plenty more. This trip is not possible without dedicated students and volunteers, as well as prayer and support from the entire congregation. To learn about the trip and how you can help support it by exhibiting extravagant generosity, please visit: You Serve, You Earn: We are looking for small jobs for students to complete in exchange for a donation of your choice. If you have a project you'd like to have done around your home that is appropriate for a student to complete, please contact Aaron Forney (aforney@asburylv.org or ). A Youth Project, An Asbury Mission, A Family's Home: Members (as well as family and friends of the trip) may support the trip through buying a specific part of the house. Please visit for purchasing options. If you prefer not to purchase online, you may also submit a check (payable to "Asbury UMC") or a cash donation to Asbury s office.
