1 Vivid Women FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART I see trees of green, red roses too; I see them bloom for me and you I see skies of blue and clouds of white and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.. Don t you just love this new season of the year? Birds are singing an early morning song trees budding flowers blooming. The earth is wakening from its much too long cold winter nap. It s time for a refreshing start, a rebirth, and renewal - not only for the beautiful orb we live on, but for ourselves as well. How will you Make Room for the God who adores you? I would like to encourage each of us to continue building meaningful relationships with one another and with our Heavenly Father. There are several awesome opportunities that enable us to accomplish this: 1. JCC Ladies Spring Breakfast April 27, beginning at 9:00AM. Come and join us for a time of fun, food (bacon!) and fellowship. Linda Webb, Potomac Network, VIVID Women Director will be our guest speaker. Begin a good relationship by extending a personal invitation to the new lady in your Sunday school class, or invite your neighbor that might not attend a Sunday service. Seating is limited, so please let us know you will be attending. 2. VIVID Sister s Facebook page - This is a place where requests for assistance can be made and words of encouragement can be expressed. Hear an inspirational message, praise video or see a humorous witticism? Post it so we all might enjoy and be uplifted. Updates to events and activities are posted here, as well. 3. Tuesdays are Ladies Bible Study Day here at JCC. Both studies are led by godly women that hear from God as they walk with Him, and then unselfishly and graciously impart that knowledge to us. The morning study is held every Tuesday at 9:45am; the evening study begins at 7:30pm. Free childcare is available for both sessions. Plan to attend either or both studies - you will not be disappointed! As we begin this new season, let s renew our commitment to encourage, love, and lift each other up in prayer. We know God hears and answers always. Know that I continue to pray for each of you. If you need prayer, I am only a phone call away - never hesitate. Come gather with us as we grow in Christ. There is no cost for this study. NOTE: Child care is available Donations are welcome. The Ladies Evening Bible study is about ladies of all ages and stages gleaning from the Word and maturing in Christ. Every Tuesday evening, women of all generations gather from 7:30 until 9:00 for a time of fellowship, worship, teaching, and prayer. The Holy Spirit provides a safe place for seeking and learning as we grow deeper in Christ and in fellowship with one another. Currently, we are studying The Battlefield of the Mind, by Joyce Meyer. This powerful study, which began in September, continues until the end of April. During our summer session, Tuesday evenings, July st, we will enjoy a fourweek study on Love Languages. How do we express the love of Christ in our own special way, and how do others receive it? Child care is provided free of charge. All ladies, all ages and stages, are so very welcome. We invite you to come and join us as we, together, go deeper and grow stronger in Him, for His glory. Carol Miller For more information, contact Yvonné Hurst, VIVID Director yhurst@gmail.com 3

5 Jubilee Vivid Women ENCOURAGING WORDS The hedgehogs Dorcas House The Dorcas House is a Missionary Commissary located at Potomac Park Conference Center in Falling Waters, WV. It is set up like a miniature store. Nationally appointed full time world missionaries from the Potomac Network are eligible and encouraged to "shop" for needed and wanted basic household items at no cost to them. The U.S. Potomac Network missionaries are also eligible and encouraged to shop every other year. Our network widows are also blessed with an item from the Dorcas House each year at Christmas. The generous ladies of the Potomac Network strive very hard at keeping the Dorcas House supplied. At the beginning of every year, each section in the Network is assigned a "room" in the house. Donations to the Dorcas House are usually made in July at Missions Day - however, donations are welcome at any time throughout the year. The Dorcas House is a tremendous blessing to our missionaries. We wish you could experience the excitement and every heartfelt expression of gratitude as the families "shop" at no cost. We want our missionaries to have the very best we can possibly give them, so we only accept items that are new and of a good quality. This year JCC has been assigned Power Tools & Gift Cards. We will begin collecting for both beginning Sunday, May 5th. Missions Day is Saturday, July 20th. It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The hedgehogs, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive. The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities. 9 We Have a Prayer Room!! these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. (Isaiah 56:7) Similar words were spoken to Pastor Bill Frasnelli as Jubilee Christian Center was being built. This house of the Lord would not be built on worldly trappings, but on the prayers of God s people. and so it has been. Now, we have a dedicated Prayer Room at JCC. Located in Room 213A (adjacent to the youth room), the Prayer Room is a peaceful place to seek the Lord, for individual prayer or study. The Prayer Room is available anytime the church is open, day or evening. For private prayer, biblical counseling, or bible study, it is also used for church prayer during the Sunday school hour. Faithful prayer warriors of the church gather together to lift up to Jesus the needs of His people. Come away to seek the Lord, to pray in solitude or with another believer. Come away to the quiet. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6,7 9
