Last week our focus verse was 1 Chronicles 16:34, this week we will focus on Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. PRECIOUS MOMENTS meets Tuesdays 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the church nursery. Please mark your calendars for November 16-18, 2018 for Jello-on-a-Stick at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisherville! This annual Youth retreat is for those in Grades 8 to 12. More information to follow soon. A Niagara Circuit Reformation Service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 7:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (213 Linwell Rd.). PLEASE READ AND PRAY FOR THIS: In order to reach out and care for the members of our church we would like to start a Caring Callers of Christ group. So we are asking for volunteers both men and women who would like to come together and visit and or telephone members to reach out and care for them. The commitment would be as much or as little as you could do. We would meet together to talk about visiting and or phoning members. As we prepare for a new Pastor to shepherd us it would be a great help to him if there would be something in place when he starts here to support him in caring for God's people here at Christ. Please pray about this and tell either Louise or me (Pastor John). Remember, the commitment is as much or little as you can help with, we will make it fit your schedule and your life. That the Lord will grow their faith, that they will be encouraged by other Christians and that God will continue to use them (and us) to bring others to know Him BAZAAR NOTE: It s that time of year again! We are looking for arts and crafts for our Bazaar, knitting, crocheting, weaving, beading, jewelry, woodworking, stained glass, etc. We truly appreciate and are grateful for the many fantastic donations that you have made in the past we look forward to anything that you may have for this year s Bazaar BULLETIN BOARD: Do you have a gift for creating things pleasing to the eye? If so we need your expertise in designing our Church Bulletin Boards. Please contact Louise for more info KIDS ACTIVITY BAGS: We are looking for someone to help repack the activity bags approximately every 2 weeks. If you are able to help, please speak with Louise. 6 Warm Feet for the Street Kits for Out of the Cold The LWML/MARY MARTHA ladies are filling warm socks for the Out of the Cold program at November meeting. Any contributions would be most appreciated. again their LARGE WARM SOCKS Warm Gloves (adult size) Toothpaste & Toothbrushes Lip Balm Hand Lotion Shampoo (small) Deodorant Kleenex (little pkgs.) Bandaides UNDERWEAR (new) Scarves Portals of Prayer (or similar from any month or year) Remember that everything needs to be small enough to fit into the socks. 8 Saturday, November 17 NEEDED: VOLUNTEERS WHO CAN HELP WITH THE NEARLY NEW TABLE!!!! Could you possibly help in one of the following ways? 1.) Setting out donations on the Thursday afternoon, Thursday evening, and/or Friday (Nov. 15, 16) 2.) Helping to price items 3.) Working at the Bazaar on the Sat., Nov. 17 th PLEASE SPEAK TO CAROLE PINK IF YOU ARE ABLE AND WILLING TO HELP IN ANY OF THE ABOVE CAPACITIES OR IF YOU CAN HELP WITH THE BAZAAR IN ANY OTHER WAY. Nearly New Table? Do you have something you can donate? Start bringing in items at any time and place them in the small room beside the filing cabinets in the Sunday School end of the fellowship hall (the one that used to be Ivy s S.S. room). Last year we had requests to add things for children so we are looking to add children s toys, games and books. Please remember though, that we NO LONGER have a White Elephant area, so for this table we are looking for items that are nearly new quality items, gently used, in good condition. We are hoping for lots of things to come in early, so they can be sorted and priced ahead of time. Silent Auction: has been a great success the last couple years, so will be continued. Could you offer something for that? Contact Judy Mason. Craft Table: Do you have some crafts you could donate? We are always looking for new items and suggestions. Please suggest a price for your donations since you know the cost of making the items. (and also a note as to whether or not the price can be changed if the ladies working the Table feel it should be) TAKE OUT from the kitchen will be available again. Deli Table: Summer Sausage, meat pies, cabbage rolls, pierogies and any other additions that you could donate. We hope for the continued help of the whole congregation with donations. (Crafts, Deli, Baking (brought in Fri. Nov. 16) & Nearly New Tables brought in NOW or any time leading up to the Bazaar).
