6 ~Announcements~ ART SHOW: East Koshkonong Lutheran Church Shares Their Gifts Art Show! November 23 from 1-4 P.M. will be the date for our members to display their artistic talent in whichever medium they wish. We will display the art work in the narthex and sanctuary on Saturday and leave it for Sunday worship as well. There will be refreshments in the basement and visitors to the show are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank or a monetary offering. WE welcome all artists and encourage you to invite your friends and family to witness all of the gifts our members possess. LEFSE/BAKE SALE: We will be holding a lefse/bake sale in conjunction with ARK's Art Show on Saturday, November 23rd. There will be a variety of bake sale items, including Norwegian specialties. Lefse will be made in advance and sold at the sale. Anyone who would like to help with making lefse is invited to join the fun on Friday, November 22nd. You are asked to bring a recipe of lefse (made up the night before, but without the flour added), using the Gladys Rockne recipe in the church cookbook. If you don't have the book, there will be copies of the recipe available at church. Bring a lefse griddle and stick if you have one, along with other needed supplies such as a pastry cloth/board and rolling pin. Flour will be provided. The lefse will be rolled and fried from 9:00 to noon. If you haven't made lefse, come and watch and/or try your hand. For those who wish to donate baked goods, please watch for drop off information coming soon. If you have questions, contact either Marilyn Gunderson ( ) or Sue Repyak ( ). Comment cards have been placed in the card slots in each pew. We invite any comments that people want to share good or bad (e.g. new idea; suggestions; things you like/don t like; items that need to be fixed, etc.) All comments will be reviewed by the Council. Women s Fall Retreat: Faith Lutheran Church in Janesville WI is inviting East Koshkonong women to join them at their fall retreat. Please join us for a day of stitches, scripture and service! Come away for a day of being with other women and to be in the presence of God. Together we will tie an already made quilt following worship and Bible study. Retreat Date: Saturday, November 2 Retreat Times: 8:30 am 4:15 pm (Registration from 8:30 am 8:50 am) Place: Holy Wisdom Monastery, 4200 Hwy County M, Middleton, WI Cost: $35 includes lunch, snacks and most materials. Pick up a registration form in the Narthex or in the church office. The registration form with the registration fee can be returned by placing it in the Sunday offering plate, returning it to the church office or to Mary Nelsestuen or Bonnie Ehrke. Optional activities at the retreat are: a book discussion (extra cost), Knitting workshop (possible extra cost) or personal time (this is an opportunity to take an outdoor walk weather permitting).
