4 In April we will be collecting loose change to help the St Gianna Center here at Divine Mercy. Each classroom will have their own jar, and we will share with the kids in classes why our center is so helpful here in Niagara County. First Communion will be held Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1 pm. Children s banners are due in by April 30. Substitute Catechists Needed! Remember that all of our amazing catechists are volunteers just like you who give their time and talent to making sure that our children have the opportunity to grow in their knowledge of the Catholic Faith. Occasionally, one or more of our catechists may be unavailable to teach a Faith Formation session, and it is necessary for a substitute to step in. If you would be willing to become a substitute catechist and occasionally cover a Faith Formation session when the regular catechist is unavailable, please contact me, at or jbelkota.dmparish@gmail.com for more information. The Diocese requires background checks and a Virtus training session to ensure we are looking out for the best interest of all children in the parish, which we can help arrange if needed. We continue to use the Remind Program to stay connected. You can private message me through that too, if needed, as many of you already know. Text the to the number and connect as a parent. The Telephone Assurance Program (TAP) SERV- ING Erie and Chautauqua Counties, and the Friendly Phones program serving Orleans County, are free volunteer services providing regular telephone calls to homebound elderly and disabled persons to check on their well-being and to give people an opportunity to socialize. Relationships grow and last for years through a regular 5-to15 minute call. These friendly calls can alleviate some concerns facing those who live alone and can help them maintain their independence.
