Parishioners of the Western Maine Lakes and Foothills have a long history of showing their commitment to the Diocese of Portland by supporting the Catholic Appeal. This month, all parish families have been asked to make their pledge to the 2018 Catholic Appeal. We ask that you give prayerful consideration to this important request from the Bishop. The appeal funds the agencies and ministries that support thousands of our brothers and sisters in need across the state of Maine. We hope that you will respond generously. The Parishes of the Western Maine Lakes and Foothills is pleased to welcome the newest member to our Cluster Staff. Katina Tice has joined our team as our new Bookkeeper/Business Coordinator. Katina and her husband and two children are parishioners of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish. Katina has been an active volunteer in our Faith Formation and Youth Ministry programs for several years. Katina will be in our Norway and Bridgton offices during normal office hours. Stop by and introduce yourself and help us welcome her to our staff. Welcome Katina! Please pray for the repose of the souls of Carol Strom, long time St. Joseph parishioner, and her daughter Jamie Mantz, who both died last week. Please pray for their families and friends, as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.

Here he reminds us of the need and the benefit of quiet time and reflection before our worship: When we go to Mass, maybe we arrive 5 minutes early and we start to chat with those in front of us, but it is not a moment to chat, it is a moment of silence, to prepare ourselves for dialogue with God, it is a time for the heart to collect itself in order to prepare the encounter with Jesus. Silence is so important: Remember...we do not go to a show, we go to meet the Lord and silence prepares us and accompanies us. To our Special Friends at St. Joseph s Church It was wonderful to be back at St. Joseph s on Sunday morning. We thank Father Ed for our special blessing. Then after, to greet you all at Coffee and Donuts. The cake and flowers were so beautiful. We miss our parish very much, After 30 years here, we have to begin again. But, we are not far away and friends can visit us and we can come back. We just got reminded of the beautiful choir at St. Joes s, the warm friendliness, and the hardworking parishioners that make this happen. Thank you Father Ed and Father Peter, for being there for us, for your holiness and how beautifully your represent the priesthood of our Catholic Church. You have fed us in our faith. Love, Gloria and Tom Monday, June 25 th We will need volunteers to arrive around 9:30 AM to help unload the delivery of food, put items away and set up the hall for Food Pantry. Tuesday, June 26 th Food Pantry Day. We will need volunteers to arrive around 9:00 AM to put out all the food items and unload the freezers. Pantry is open to clients from Volunteers are needed to help at the food tables and assist clients in taking food to their cars. After, volunteers will be needed to put left-over food items away and close down the church hall. Our thanks to all those who volunteer and to all those who donate. Your help allows us to serve an average of 50 families each month. Come join us if you can volunteer for any portion of these days. If any parishioners would like to help with food donations, all non-perishable foods are happily accepted and will be shared with the clients on food pantry day. Drop off items in the church hall by the food pantry closet. Thank you. God bless St. Joseph Women s Guild along with Sally Chappell are hosting Katrina Vanhuizen from EcoMaine who will be presenting Recycling June 19th from in the classroom at St. Joseph Church in Bridgton.
