How many opportunities??? Three hundred sixty four: that is how many days I have left to praise God this year! I don t know how time slipped by me so quickly last year. God, I intended to be more thankful for all you have done. Somehow one thing or another always came up. But this is a new year. I have three hundred sixty four opportunities to reach a soul for Jesus Christ. Last year I meant to call or write or drop by that hurting family that stayed on my mind for days. I don t know where the time goes sometimes. I guess I was so busy doing things, that I rarely made a difference. But this is a new year. I have three hundred sixty four opportunities to do something for the Lord. Maybe I should get started today. Pastor Tim

This is always a special time as we remember with thankful hearts what Jesus has done for us and the promises of life eternal with Jesus in heaven. Plan now to be present for this Holy Meal! OUR CONDOLENCES: Our community of faith mourns with Doris Wildman in the recent death of her husband, Richard Dick Wildman, who entered the Church Triumphant on December 25, The funeral Service for Richard is Monday, January 9 th here at Shepherdstown UMC, with visitation from 9:30 12:00 and the Funeral Service at 12:00. SENIORS OF SHEPHERDSTOWN: On January 5 th our activity will be lunch at West Main Street Family Restaurant, 710 West Main Street, Mechanicsburg. We will meet at the restaurant at 11:00 am for lunch and then travel to the Freight Station Mechanicsburg Museum, 3 West Allen Street. We will view the Free Winter Wonderland Express featuring Wallace the Snowman and a large expanded Lionel Train layout and Rudolph Village and train. Also, old time toys, dolls, snowflakes, a Mickey Mouse collection and animated building, an array of yuletide trees and much more. The museum is open until 3:00 pm. View at your leisure and enjoy reminiscing your childhood days. Sign up sheet is on the SOS bulletin board. PARKING LOT SNOW REMOVAL THIS WINTER: All parking lots will be plowed when the snow depth reaches 2 or more. In addition, we will salt both side lots, the lot across the street and the first three parking rows of the rear lot. We will salt the remainder of the rear lot if there is

3 snow on Christmas Eve. The Trustees hope this will not inconvenience anyone and that you will use your own good judgment about parking on the rear parking lot when it snows. JOIN THE PRAYER TEAM STAND FIRM! Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God s You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. (vs. 15, 17) I have a little saying pinned to by cube at work that says Sometimes I get the feeling that the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that is not true. Some of the smaller countries are neutral. It made me laugh when I saw it so I cut it out. Since that original siting, there ARE days when nothing seems to gel. I m misunderstood, misquoted, mistaken for a doormat. I get tired and cranky and feel like I am hitting a wall. My blood pressure is up, my heart is beating like a drum and I am anxious and irritated. Where is my God on those days? Truth be told, He is right there, standing beside you. It s your focus that is off. Have you forgotten the many scriptures that tell you that He will never stop loving you, will never leave you? We allow ourselves and our energy to be directed in ways of the world. When you see a battle heading your way, the best strategy is to drop to your knees. Pray to feel His presence, to give up control, to allow His deliverance. Stand Firm and be Amazed! The Prayer Team would love to stand beside you also and pray for the things that make you feel helpless and weak. Let us lift you up with love and support. Join us as we turn our faces to HIM. We had an awesome time at the last minute wing night this past week. Some of our youth wanted to see what the hottest wings they could stand which was pretty funny. This might become a new staple for Fusion. No Fusion Tonight!! Zeteo is approaching. The deadline to sign up is January 8 th. The cost for Zeteo is $40 dollars and its for 7 th - 12 th graders. There will be Children s Church for ages 3yrs-5 th grade.these children will be dismissed after the Children s sermon in the 10:45am service. Please make sure ALL kids have a Children s Church Consent Form found in the pew. What are You Planning on Doing for God This Year? The kids of the FLOCK will be encouraged to start this New Year off with a PLAN(Resolution ) as to how they can better serve God. We are excited to see what those plans will be.
