2 Ten Years Ago So what were you doing 10 years ago this month? I know what I was doing...i was working with a call committee and feeling nervous as I prepared a sermon to preach, knowing that it would be followed by a call vote and perhaps the beginnings of a new call to ministry. That's what I was doing 10 years ago. And obviously, that vote was a positive one, and we have been walking together in ministry for the last 10 years. And what a decade it has been! 10 years of memories and joys, baptisms, first communions, confirmations, funerals, time together that have shaped me as a pastor, as a wife and mother and as a disciple. And I guess it's my hope that my being here as pastor has shaped each of you in a little way, too. Maybe it was a sermon that seemed to stick with you. Maybe it was a time of conversation or prayer that we shared that seemed to be filled with ~Pastor Sarah Keilholtz the Holy Spirit. Maybe it was just one of those days in worship that you felt humbled and overwhelmed by the chance to come to the table and share in God's grace. And I know that if there was something that I did, well, I know that it wasn't really me...none of it has been me. God calls us to our vocation, and God is calling each of us to be a disciple - to live out our baptism in amazing ways. For 10 years - a quarter of my life - I have thanked God for getting to serve out my call in this place. And what's going to come in the next 10 years? We don't know, do we? But I am looking forward to walking through those years with you and to continue to grow together as disciples. Thank you for calling me to serve in this place 10 years ago and for affirming that call in so many ways in the years that we have been together...so far. November 11: Harvest Home Sunday Join us at Sunday School for Harvest Home Sunday. We will be collecting non-perishable food/canned goods to be donated to our Little Free Pantry and to New Hope Ministry to help them stock their Holiday baskets. Our Sunday School students will present a program at our opening. 2
