The donation is $ Thank you, my dear Carmichael friends, for the many cards, phone calls, and expressions of sympathy in the loss of my Bud - and your Bud in many ways! He loved the Carmichael Church and he loved all of you. He loved working in your Community Services - It was pure joy to him. He looked forward to it every week! Shirley Roberts Men s Chorus Festival - You are invited to attend a Men's Chorus festival here at the Carmichael Church on Sabbath, November 4, 2017, at 5 p.m. There will be 101 men participating from five men's choruses: the Bay Area, Bakersfield-Hillcrest, Carmichael, Hinsdale, and Modesto- Praise Men's Chorus. Admission is free. CCK Fall Movie Night/Costume Party is coming! - Mark your calendars for Saturday night, October 28 at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall. Parents and kids, come dressed in your favorite fall costumes and enjoy a movie night with games, fall fun, free concession stand and snacks (No scary or evil costumes permitted.) There will be extra prizes for any kids who uncover the identities of the adult Bible character visitors. (Note: adults are still needed. Please contact Pastor Melissa at ) Adventurers Bike Derby - Church family; come support your Adventurers and cheer on the Carmichael Cubs as they race their bikes at SAA for the adventurer bike derby tomorrow at 10:00 am. You don't have to know a participant to join. We are selling chipotle style burrito bowls, nachos, and fresh fried donut holes at 11:45 am. See you all there! Collegiate Care Package Ministry - It s that time of year where we need your help in collecting the addresses of college students for our Collegiate Care Package ministry. Please the office with your child s address by the end of October so that we can get them a holiday gift. Also, if you d like to support this ministry, donations are always welcome.

A Well, A Roof, A School - Three needy mission options were set before us last Sabbath. A well costs, $10,000, The Roof here in town with volunteer labor is going to come in around $6,000, and the school in the brick yards of Pakistan costs $40,00.00 to set up. Select as a family, Grow Group, a team of friends, and make this International Month of October significant with missions. Bike Fundraiser - Sacramento Adventist Academy Boys Basketball Team is having a Bike Ride Fundraiser on Sunday, October 29 th. Registration is at 8:00 am and the ride starts at 9:00 am. Cost is $65 and includes a potluck lunch, Gatorade/water support stations, and a custom water bottle. The course is 20 miles on the American River Trail. Register at by October 22nd. Adventist Choice College Fair - Students, you and your family are invited to attend the Adventist Choice College Fair at Sacramento Adventist Academy (5600 Winding Way, Carmichael) on November 8, 2017, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Many of the accredited Adventist colleges and universities will be represented. You can learn about scholarship opportunities, apply for free to the attending colleges you are interested in (at the event only) and meet with admissions counselors. More details available at:

The parable s focus on God expecting fruit from His vineyard (His people) is a reference to Isaiah 5:2. b. The stone that the builders rejected is from the Septuagint translation of Psalm 118: The Septuagint is the translation of the Hebrew scriptures into Greek used by Jesus and the early church. c. The servants of the Vineyard s owner represent the prophets of the Old Testament. 2. Questions about the text: a. How do the scribes and chief priests react to the parable? b. Why do the tenants want to kill the son? 3. Application: a. How can you relate with the plight of the owner? b.
