We invite you to enter this sanctuary with joy and reverence. We invite members and visitors to be seated near the front of the sanctuary to enhance our sense of community in worship. When you have taken your seat, spend a few moments in quiet reflection as you prepare your heart for worship. If the service has already begun, please enter quietly by one of the side aisles. BECOME A MEMBER OF HBBC Those who desire to join our church may come forward to where the pastor is standing during the Hymn of Commitment. FOR CHILDREN DURING WORSHIP Extended Session: Childcare is provided for birth-5 year olds during worship. Children ages 4-5 visit the Sanctuary briefly for the Children s Sermon. Children s Worship: For 1st-5th graders, 1st & 3rd Sundays during the school year. (Children leave at the designated time during worship and are picked up in Room 11 following worship). Worship Bags: Worship bags are available at all of the entrances to the Sanctuary to encourage children to participate in worship. Please return them as you leave worship. ABOUT SUNDAY SCHOOL On Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m., we provide classes for all ages to enjoy Bible study and fellowship. Call the church office for more information. 6 ABOUT TODAY S WORSHIP The sanctuary flowers are given by Reese and Carolyn Edwards in celebration of God s blessing of their marriage and blending of their families on Friday, November 10 at Hayes Barton Baptist Church. The rose on the pulpit is placed to celebrate the birth of Matt and Allyson Donohue s son on November 3. Today as we observe the Lord s Supper we would like all believers to be able to participate; therefore, we offer gluten free wafers in individually wrapped packets for those with dietary restrictions. Following worship, ushers will be at the doors with baskets to receive a World Hunger offering. MEMBERSHIP MATTERS: IT S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN US! Have you recently joined HBBC or are you prayerfully considering becoming a member? Are you seeking more information about deepening your relationship with Christ? Do you desire more information about how to join the church or how to find a place of service? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you would be a perfect candidate for Membership Matters: a 5-week discussion group that deals with all of these issues. THANKSGIVING WORSHIP: NOVEMBER 23 Join us on Thursday, November 23, at 10:00 AM for our Thanksgiving Worship service. Be part of this special tradition with your family. NOVEMBER MOVERS AND SHAKERS The ministers are in charge of the program for the November Movers and Shakers, and you re in for a special treat as they talk about where we ve been as a church this year, and even about where we re going. Join us on November 28 at 12:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall; lunch is $6 per person. Call the church office by Tuesday, November 21 to make your reservations. ABIDING IN ADVENT WOMEN S ADVENT DESSERT: NOVEMBER 30 Women, you are invited to join us on Thursday, November 30 at 6:30 PM for an Advent Dessert. We will gather and share dessert and coffee, sing some Christmas carols together and reflect on abiding during Advent as we await Christ s coming. Then, we will assemble take-home Advent wreaths together. They will serve as a centerpiece in our homes for the entire season: a visual reminder that Christ is at the center of our tables and our lives. Please make your reservations at by Sunday, November 26. The cost of the event is $15 and includes all of the supplies to make your Advent wreath. WE NEED COOKIES The Food Services Committee needs 45 dozen cookies for the reception following Hanging of the Greens on December 4. You can help! PARTNERSHIP VOLUNTEERS Can you give one hour at 11:00 each week to help a child? Partnership Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help in their Kindergarten classes.
