This program will include study, discussion and reflection on how you can live out your calling in any career. The cyclists left Vancouver on June 26 and are on their way across Canada. They have now finished the first leg of the ride and are in Calgary this weekend. As a congregation we have supported a

6 FACE Fund (Financial Assistance for Christian Education) to assist with tuition costs for those wishing to send their children to a Christ-based school. The fund is available for any approved elementary or secondary school. Please contact either the deacons or the church office in order to receive an application. Next Sunday our offering is for Woodland Christian High School. Woodland Christian High School is a vibrant Christian community of learning where the love of God is evident and where students will be equipped to serve in our society as followers of Christ. For more information, go to their website at COMMUNITY CHURCH NEWS June 27 Council Meeting Highlights: Council welcomed Gerald R, Janette W and Rob W as new Administrative Elders. In order to properly begin the next ministry season, Council insists that in order to participate as a volunteer in all the church s ministries volunteers must take part in a training session that will include a presentation from the Safe Church Team. This presentation will include Accessibility for Ontarian's with Disabilities Act training. Please note that all volunteers must also have a valid police check. Each ministry is also expected to have an orientation meeting with all their volunteers to not only strategize for the coming year but also to discuss how the Safe Church and AODA training will affect their ministry. November 4, 2017 is the date that has been set for the Leadership Retreat. All officebearers are encouraged to attend. A special Council meeting took place at 7:30 this past Thursday to discuss how to proceed with the vacant Worship Coordinator Position. Worship Coordinator Search Committee Council is asking for a few congregational volunteers of all ages and stages in life who are willing to serve alongside committee members on a short term search committee for a new Worship Coordinator. If you feel called and interested to serve in this capacity please contact Harry O., the Clerk of Council, as soon as possible. Please have all expressions of interest in by Monday July 24, Council will determine who will form this committee at our meeting on July 25, Thanks for your interest.

7 VINE (a study group for young adults) will be meeting this Tuesday, July 11, at the Tims by Fischer-Hallman and Ottawa at 7 p.m. We will be talking about dance. For questions, contact Matthias. Join Us on Wednesday, July 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the church as Pastor Amanda and Pastor John will be leading an evening of story-telling on their recent trip to Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. Service Trip: Eleven members of our congregation (youth and leaders) are going on an urban adventure to Toronto from July 17 to July 21. If you are able and willing to drive a number of people to Toronto late in the afternoon of July 17 and then back again in the early afternoon of July 21, please contact the church office. Since all the transportation in Toronto will be via public transit, volunteer drivers will save on renting vehicles. If you have any questions please ask them of Pastor Amanda once she has returned from her vacation. URGENT! VBS needs an actor to help out July for the opening worship time. The skit is simple and easy to learn. We're looking for anyone of any age to help out in this position. We are also looking for more people to be crew leaders or help with registration. Donations are also needed. We are looking for: Coffee Cans (large) PVC Pipes and Reno materials small to medium plastic and metal lids of various colours and sizes old CD's or DVD's packages of small metal washers and nuts 2L plastic bottles (from pop) shampoo bottles (oval) Spools of thin string or yarn Dixie cups All donations can be dropped off in classroom 7. If you're a 20ish to 30-something looking for a place to connect and deepen your faith, come on out to Faith + Hops at Williamsburg Arms. Once a month we get together for engaging discussion, fried goo, and a beverage of your choice. Check out CCRC's Facebook page closer to the dates for the discussion topic! Church Camping: You are all welcome to come to Wildwood Conservation Campgrounds again this year over the Civic long weekend. The dates are Friday August 4 to Monday August 7. Please be aware that if you come on Friday you will need to pay for 3 nights and if on Saturday for 2 nights minimum. You re also welcome to come up for a day. I am looking for persons willing to help out with the church service: Someone to share a message, someone to lead music and someone to do a children's message. If you can help out or if you have any questions please me, Judy H. Coffee Break Moms and Tots will be meeting weekly on Wednesday mornings at approximately 9:30 for a play date in the

8 park! Join us at Country Hills Play Ground at 100 Rittenhouse Road. Bathroom facilities are on site. If transportation is an issue, the playground is walking distance from the Forest Glen bus terminal. This is a perfect opportunity to invite mom friends and neighbours who may be interested in what Coffee Break is all about. Any questions, contact Jen F. Anyone interested in a bike ride this Monday evening is invited to meet at the parking lot at the corner of Sterling and Courtland in Kitchener for a 2 hour bike ride (about 25 kms). We will be exploring the Iron Horse trail, Monarch Woods and Laurel Creek! All you need is a human-powered bike, a helmet and some water. We will leave at 6:30 PM sharp this Monday July 10th. Questions call Keith. Volleyball: This coming Tuesday, July 11, there will be no volleyball but we will meet again on July 18. All are welcome to join in then at 8:00 p.m. for fun and noncompetitive volleyball.
