3 Coming up at TRC LADIES DAY Saturday, May 18, 9:00am- 2:30pm, Cost: $5.00. Come on your own or bring a family member or friend to share a great day together! Lunch will be served and we will have an easy craft to make with the help of Mary Musgrave. Lorraine Baldus, a good friend of the Trinity Ladies, will be the devotional speaker. There will be a letter in your mailbox or on the table in the Fellowship Hall. Please fill it out and put it in the mailbox of either Lee Trowbridge or Gwen Miles. BOOK CLUB Join us on Tuesday, May 28, as we discuss Home Again by Kristen Hannah. We will have a potluck, followed by the discussion. Maria Tate will be our hostess. MISSION OF THE MONTH May s Mission of the Month is Cran Hill Ranch. Next month, those participating in our annual camping trip to Cran Hill will have a firsthand glimpse of what our support funds! Not going this year? Check out cranhillranch.com for more information regarding this ministry. FAMILY NIGHT Looking even farther ahead than this summer, we will be needing a cooking team for the Family Night Dinners next year. Our Discipleship team has graciously volunteered to fill in this year, but will still need a team formed for the school year. Please prayerfully consider whether or not this is an area in which you can help. MEMBER INTERVIEWS Beginning next month, we will get to know one another a little better using interview forms that will be distributed using the mailboxes. There will be a few handed out each month, and they will have questions to answer. You will have the choice to keep your feature in question/answer form or to have Annika Breimayer write a short paragraph using your answers. The hope is that this will be more successful than having members write their own biographies to be featured in the Trumpeter. We look forward to getting to know you even more! SOFTBALL The Johnstone/TRC league is back! See the calendar for the times and locations of the games, so you can cheer them on! From the Ministry Team Do you sense God speaking to you through the events of your life or something you ve recently read? Has a Bible passage or devotion jumped out at you and inspired or convicted you in some meaningful manner? Perhaps a song or movie has communicated to you in a way that still lingers and resonates with your soul. If you have ever felt like God has laid a word upon your heart that you would like to share with the congregation, we would like to encourage you to do so. Don t worry, it doesn t have to be very lengthy, 5-10 minutes is probably sufficient. We believe our church family would benefit greatly from hearing from many of you. Whenever you feel God nudging you, please contact Pastor Randy or Paula DeVos so that they can make arrangements to include you on the worship schedule. Once again the Team welcomes your feedback regarding your worship experiences here at Trinity Reformed Church. Has your understanding of God or the Bible increased? 4 Isaiah 56:7 For my house will be called a house of prayer. Prayer Corner GET READY FOR THE REWRITE Written by: DeVon Franklin (Hollywood Screenwriter) Every great movie that happens, and all the movies that you see, start with a script. But it is impossible for a movie to make it to the screen unless the script is re-written. When God looks at my life, I know it is impossible for me to get to the next level of my life unless I let God get behind the keyboard and start rewriting some scenes in my life. Jeremiah 18: 1-6 God told Jeremiah Up on your feet! Go to the potter s house. When you get there, I m going to tell you what I have to say. So, Jeremiah says, I went down to the potter s house and, sure enough, the potter was there. And he was working away at the wheel. The potter was working with the clay, and it turned out badly, he simply started over with the same clay to make another pot. So many times, I get comfortable and complacent. That s when things gets out of whack. I say, God, what are You doing? Why are things so difficult? He draws my attention to Jeremiah, You are like clay, you are like this script, and in order for Me to get you to your next level, there are some things that I have to rewrite. God says, I need you to see yourself the way that I see you. Don t let the devil use his keyboard to write you into a script of failure. No, no, no, no, no! I made you. Yes, I might have to do a rewrite. The potter did not throw out the clay, he used to same clay, he broke it down, and he built it back up again. There is nothing wrong with you. We all have to go though the purification process the rewrite. So I thank God that He thinks enough of me that He will spend the time and be patient with me until I can get it right. God says, I made you. I have the manual on you. I m trying to direct your life. I know the beginning from the end. Will you trust Me? Will you believe in Me? Let me not get so caught up in the scenes of my life that I don t let God, the master screenwriter, write a masterpiece out of each of my stories. Philippians 1:6 He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Lord, I love You, I appreciate You, I thank You, and I receive Your blessings.
