The reading from Genesis promises a final triumph over the power of sin and a return to a new creation. The reading from Second Corinthians promises that all who follow Christ will have to struggle. It also promises, however, that we can persevere if we but recognize that Christ is within us, renewing us daily, and giving us the courage and the strength we need to endure. The Gospel promises that doing God s will makes us family with Jesus, who forgives all sin and triumphs over evil. Today might be a good day for us to make some promises as well. We can promise to stop kidding ourselves about our own tendencies to selfishness and sin. We can promise ourselves to believe really believe that while we are not sinless, we are forgiven. We can promise ourselves to combat evil and sin by acting as sisters and brothers not only to the Lord, but to one another as well. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice! Psalm 130:1

4 PRAYER PRIESTS ON RETREAT Fr. Michael, Fr. Brian and Fr. James will be out of town on retreat from Tuesday, June 12 through Friday, June 15. Therefore, there will be no 6:30am Mass on those days. A visiting priest will celebrate the 8:00 am Mass at OLA and the 11:30 am Mass at Marian Oaks Convent. 5 FELLOWSHIP MEN S CLUB MEETING Thursday, June 21 6:00 pm in the Lower Hall GARY NORTON MEMORIAL AWARD The OLA Men's Club is proud to announce the winners of this year s Gary Norton Memorial Award, which is presented to 8th graders who have demonstrated the characteristics of positive role models for the youth of our community and in our parish. This year's award recipients are Conor Lund and Jessica Worrall. Congratulations to Conor and Jessica and to all of the other very worthy students who participated. They are all wonderful examples of our OLA community and are to be commended for their service. The winners each received a $500 scholarship. SCHOOL OF RELIGION REGISTRATION Registration takes place through June 21. $150 fee per child for any registration received before June 21. (Extra $50 for the 2nd grade First Eucharist program). Forms can be found in the church vestibule, OLA rectory, or online at ola.community. Registrations received after June 21 will incur a $50 late fee. CONFIRMATION REGISTRATION Register on the parish website at sacraments/confirmation. Registration is now open.
