2 FROM THE PASTOR Christ, King of the Universe Today in the Gospel as Jesus is questioned by Pilate, he declares, My kingdom does not belong to this world and I came into the world to testify to the truth. This feast reminds us of three vital truths. First when it seems the world is spinning out of control, we have a King who is very much in charge and is loving, merciful and just. Second Christ is King of me, personally. I am a servant of the King; a steward of God s gifts to me. Third I am called to imitate my King as a humble servant. As Jesus said, I came not to be served but to serve. This week, on the verge of a new Church year and the season of Advent, it is an ideal time to take stock of my priorities, to ask am I really allowing Christ to reign in all aspects of my daily life? It s also a great moment to celebrate! Christ is King! WORD FOR THE DAY Any place is sacred ground, for it can become a place of encounter with the divine Presence. Br.
