2 FROM THE PASTOR BE OPENED! LISTEN! Jesus today takes on the role of medicine man by using an earthy means (spittle) to perform a healing miracle of someone who cannot hear or speak. I imagine that this man didn t care how Jesus cured him. He was just grateful to be able to hear and speak. HOLY HOUR MONDAY SEPT 10 TH HEALING AND REPARATION MONDAY, SEPT 10TH AT 6:30PM All are invited to join in an Evening of Prayer for the Healing of Victims of Abuse and for Reparation in the Church. What I ind interesting is that after he was cured, we don t know what he heard or spoke. I m sure in his day there was a lot of criticism, negativity and gossip too. Hopefully he heard good things and chose to speak plainly words of kindness and thanksgiving. Curiously, after Jesus gifted the man with clear speech, he then told him not to speak about it. How are we to remain open to being cured of our impediments? So many distracting noises vie for our attention. In letting everything in, do we really hear anything at all? Perhaps the cure for all impediments is silence so we can hear God s intimate voice in our own hearts. Take some time each week, in fact, each day, to ind that quiet space, and reconnect with God. Re lect on all the good that God has done for you. In your prayerful silence, give him thanks. Breathe in the fullness of Jesus and breathe out anything standing between you and Jesus. Michael will celebrate a Mass of Healing and offer Anointing of the Sick to parishioners who are ill. All are welcome. They will lay hands on the sick, who will recover (Mark 16:18) OUTREACH SERVICES FOR WOMEN CSC Outreach Services for Women reaches out to women who may be pregnant or need assistance. Many women in our area are not receiving proper care and support. Please join the community in collecting diapers and wipes to stock our Baby Pantry. Once the baby pantry is illed, we will begin to offer services.
