Eucharistic Adoration Adoration is essentially an embrace with Jesus in which I say to him: I am yours, and I ask you, please stay with me always. -Pope Benedict XVI We are in need of additional adorers to spend time in the presence of Our Lord on First Fridays of each month. The greatest need for adorers is for afternoon or evening hours. Please prayerfully consider Jesus invitation to spend time with Him in adoration along with your fellow parishioners. Bishop Andrew Cozzens will be here to lead the celebration of this blessed event. A meal will be served in the PACE Center afterwards.

October 31 st and November 1 st Because we truly are the Hands and Feet of Christ here on earth, we invite everyone to stop by our Ministry Fair after Masses on October 31 st and November 1 st in the Presentation Room. You ll have a chance to speak with others who are already using their hands and feet to bring Christ s love and compassion to others here at OLL and in our greater community. Learn about the many practical ways you can use your talents to serve God and to grow in your faith! Saturday night s Ministry Fair will feature free wine, cheese & sparkling cider, and on Sunday morning we will treat you to free mimosas or orange juice. Pastoral Ministry Light for the Week: This weekend we are recalling and renewing the dedication of our parish, our dedication to be Jesus disciples. We wonder at the great things God has done for us over the past 50 years and rejoice to follow Jesus up the road. West Suburban Grief Coalition meets at Messiah United Methodist Church, County Road 6, Plymouth The group meets Thursdays from 4:30-6:00pm. Mary Consecration Bible Study This week we will conclude the 33 Days to Morning Glory study. In his video, Fr. Gaitley will pull together the insights from the four saints that we have discussed and give some direction as to where to go from here. He reviews why Mary is so important to us in strengthening our relationship to Jesus, and therefore, for our salvation. Please join us for this last session for a summary of this Marian devotion. The Luncheon & Fashion Show begins at noon on Saturday, Nov. 7 th. The Boutique is open for shopping at our vendors and traditional booths on Sunday, Nov. 8 th, from 9:00am -1:00pm. There is no admission fee to attend the CCW Boutique. Tickets for the Luncheon & Fashion Show are $16. Tickets may be purchased after the Masses on Sunday, Nov. 1 st. Tickets are also available in the Church Office during regular office hours. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on Saturday, Nov. 7 th. Council of Catholic Women The CCW is collecting supplies greatly needed by the homeless. Please help by bringing socks, toiletries, and bath towels to our Collection Bucket, located in the Church Hall connecting to the PACE Center, by the CCW Bulletin Board. Thanks for helping! Listening Sessions with Archbishop Hebda to Help Inform Pope Francis Choice for Our New Archbishop: Pope Francis has emphasized the importance of dialogue in the life of the Church. And in the spirit of speaking and listening in charity, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis is hosting a series of listening sessions. Archbishop Hebda will lead the sessions to hear your input on our strengths, our challenges, and what characteristics are important in a new archbishop. Feedback gathered during these sessions will be shared with those responsible for advising Pope Francis as he makes this important choice and with the new Archbishop whenever he is named. Summaries will be published in The Catholic Spirit. Many people think that miracles don t happen anymore. But, if you focus on the positive, not the negative, focus on your blessings instead of your hardships, miracles will seem common. World Mission Sunday Collection Thank you for expressing your missionary spirit by offering gifts of support during World Mission Sunday. Our parish collected $1, to help bring good news to young and often poor mission dioceses worldwide. This is truly a reflection of All the Church for All the World. Thank you. Our Lady of the Lake School News The OLL School is seeking talented painters who can paint wall art in the School. The art would consist of painting school children in school uniforms and some words. OLL School is seeking volunteers to construct a comprehensive list of all OLL Alumni as a part of a larger mission to bridge some of the communication gap between School, Parish, and OLL Alumni. If you are able to provide contact information of former OLL students or would like to help make phone calls to update the information we do have, we would love to hear from you!
