Our Festival Cafe and Immaculate Confection Bake Shoppe busily served hundreds of visitors! Our talented crafters happily met the needs of many shoppers while children (and several adults!!) went home with great prizes from our Straw Pull. Our BINGO had several happy winners and our Kid s Crafts Room was enjoyed by dozens of youngsters. There were smiles and laughter everywhere! My heartfelt thanks to everyone who made our Festival so warm, so welcoming and so successful: to our chairpersons, Cheryl Irons & John Procaccini, our subcommittee chairpersons, Paula Tartaglione-Hall, Anthony Lombardo, Steven Salisbury, Robin Coia, Elaine Sweetland, Gianna Riedeman, Donna Stephens, Barbara Fontaine, Dave & Sue Rathbun, Stephanie Pazienza, and Ed Nievera, and the entire Festival Committee; to the many families who donated so many wonderful baked goods; to our generous donors & sponsors, especially Garden Hills Fruit & Deli, Dave s Marketplace, Cafe International, Calise Bakery, Lincoln Packing, The Original Italian Bakery and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church; and to all the generous parishioners who volunteered their time. While I don t have enough room to list every name, please know that God has seen all your good work and will reward your generosity and kindness! A final thank-you to all our parishioners and their families, neighbors and friends who attended. Our parish is so alive and filled with the Spirit because of your prayers and support! May our heavenly Father continue to bless us and keep us united as a family in the love of Jesus and Mary. Please join us this Wednesday at 7:00 PM for our Annual Thanksgiving Eve Mass. As is our tradition, please bring a bag of non-perishable food for the needy and/or a gift card or cash donation which I will pass on to the Assumption Parish Food Pantry. These items will be brought up and placed before the altar during the Offertory. Additionally, please bring with you some bread/rolls or another food item which you will enjoy on Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends. These items will be blessed so that the graces of our Mass will extend to our homes and Thanksgiving meals. Additionally, you re invited to join us for a cup of hot chocolate before Mass beginning at 5:30PM. I hope you will join us as we stop to give thanks to God for His many blessings. Remember, Thanksgiving Day without Mass is just another turkey dinner! God bless you in the week ahead and A Blessed Thanksgiving to all!! 3 Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time November 18, 2018 Religious Education Give Thanks by Giving Back Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will wrap up this Monday, November 19 th. All items can be dropped off at the Parish Center or brought to CCD class. Thank you to everyone for your generous support! May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and sacrifice. Thank you to all our confirmation candidates who volunteered to help at our Family Festival & Craft Show! You were a big help! Reminder to all families: There ARE religious education classes next Sunday, November 25 th & Monday, November 26 th and classes will continue through Sunday, December 16 th & Monday, December 17 th. Thanksgiving Eve Mass Wednesday, November 21 st at 7:00 pm Join us as we first give thanks to God for all His blessings throughout the year. Come early and enjoy the Bonfire. From the Desk of Mrs. Spaziante When asked what they are grateful for, our students responses varied from family to toys and everything in between. As for me, I am grateful everyday to see these smiling faces! There is a quote that says, There is calmness to a life lived with gratitude, a quiet joy. As we enter into Thanksgiving week, let us show our gratitude for this is God's will for us. Happy Thanksgiving! WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN ALTAR SERVER? We are looking for some new youngsters, 4 th grade and older, who would like to serve at Holy Mass on the weekends. It s a great privilege to serve at the altar and it s not difficult at all. There will be three one-hour training sessions on Tuesday & Wednesday, November 27 th & 28 th from 6:30-7:30 pm AND Wednesday, December 5 th from 6:30-7:30 pm. After that, your son or daughter will be assigned to a team and begin serving when the new schedule begins (January 2019). Please talk this over with your child(ren) and encourage them to serve Jesus and our parish at Mass. It will have a wonderfully positive effect on them and bring them many blessings! We Give Blood.
