Dear Parishioners, Cranston, RI Congratulations to the couples of our parish who participated in the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Celebration at the Cathedral last Sunday: Mario & Veronica M. Casinelli, Jr. (70 years), Alfred & Mary Jane Melocarro (66 years), Richard & Paula Marinaro (50 years), Anthony & Ella Leone (50 years), Robert & Virginia Smith (25 years) and Andrzej & Kinga Bajer (25 years). It was an honor and a privilege for me to concelebrate the Mass with Bishop Tobin and pray for all the married couples of our parish, especially those celebrating major anniversaries. May God bless and strengthen the love of all our husbands and wives! So the time has come our pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes and the Shrines of Spain begins this Thursday. While I m away, please note the following: There will be no First Friday devotions this Friday, October 5. There will be no Rosary & Benediction next Tuesday, October 9. There will be no Confessions next Wednesday, October 10. Msgr. Kenney will celebrate all of the daily Masses (except Monday, October 8 which will be celebrated by Fr. Murphy) Fr. Murphy will celebrate the Sunday Masses on October 7. Msgr. Kenney will celebrate the Sunday Masses on October 14. Fr. Reilly will celebrate the Saturday Mass on October 6 and 13 and hear Confessions before both Masses. We return on Sunday, October 14 in the late afternoon. Rosary & Benediction will resume on Tuesday, October 16 at 6:30pm as well as Confessions on Wednesday from 5:30pm 6:30pm. Please know that you and all your needs and intentions will be remembered as we celebrate Mass at these holy places. While most of you will not be with us on the pilgrimage, you are all with us in spirit and I know Our Lady will bless our entire parish family in a special way! Finally, with the month of November approaching, our minds and hearts turn to our beloved dead. Near the baptismal font of our church you will find our annual Book of Remembrance. During the next four weeks, please write the names of your deceased loved ones in the book and we will pray for them at Mass throughout November. Additionally, we will celebrate a special Mass of Remembrance with full choir on All Souls Day, Friday, November 2 nd at 7:00 PM for all those who died this past year. After the homily, I will call the names of those whose Masses of Christian Burial were celebrated in our church this year and invite their loved ones to place a rose before the statue of our Blessed Mother in their memory. It s a comforting and healing moment for everyone as we entrust our beloved dead to the loving arms of Mary. Everyone is invited to join us for this special Mass. God bless you in the week ahead. Fr.
