Prayer is available to everyone whether you are a church member or not. Sunday Night Live starts at 7.00pm and Michael Anderson will continue our series on Proverbs. This week the topic is Relating wisely to other people.

4 POINTS FOR PRAYER From MISSION OVERSEAS PRAYERLINE KENYA Stephen Cowan reports that the April Youth camps began in Tuum on Monday evening (13th). Despite insecurity in the area many children and young people are present. Pray God through His Spirit will speak powerfully through the team leading the camps and the lives of many young people will be transformed as they seek to live for Christ. Pray for the team from leading the camps and for peace in the hearts of all attending. Pray for local and government leaders to address ongoing cattle raiding with wisdom and clarity. Give thanks for the completion of the building of the landrover for an orphanage in Eldoret, and for the funds this will release for the ongoing work in Tuum. Give thanks for how all the young mechanics pulled together as a team and produced a vehicle they were all justifiably proud off. MALAWI Volker has been invited to attend the Exploring New Horizons conference organised by the Increase Network in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 20th to 25th April. This conference will bring together around fifty people involved in TEE and other forms of church-based training. Give thanks for the opportunity Volker has to attend the conference and pray it will be a very beneficial time. Pray for safety as he travels. Remember JinHyeog and their children in Zomba, Malawi while Volker is away. Matt Williams reports that the theology students he teaches at Ekwendeni campus are showing good commitment to their task demonstrating a deep seriousness about the Call into which they are entering. Thank God for the fullness of life at the Ekwendeni Campus. The staff of Scripture Union of Malawi (SUM) have been meeting this week at Kande for staff training. The meetings have gone well and the staff will return home on Thursday. Give thanks for safety as the staff travelled from around the country to meet at Kande. Give thanks too for the training, helping and supporting staff in their ministry roles. Pray that staff will put into practice all that they have been learning. Pray for school children as they enter the third term and prepare for end of year exams. Pray also for teachers who lead Bible Clubs that they will achieve a good balance of their classroom and Bible Club responsibilities.

5 Neil Kennedy is leading a faculty meeting on Friday when those involved will discuss medical school admission criteria. The decisions made will have long reaching implications. Pray for wisdom for Neil. John Justin reports that the Holiday Bible Club in Embangweni went well with between 50 and 90 children attending each day. Give thanks for the Bible Club and pray for all the children who attended. Pray for good team work with all the youth work. Pray for a good start to the new term at the schools. Sadly, Don McNutt passed away last on 25th March. Don served with his wife Pat in Malawi from 1998 to Please remember his wife, Pat, and the family as they mourn their loss. INDIA Our partner in India, the Church of North India (CNI) has in recent times been fighting a number of court cases where people have illegally been attempting to sell church land and properties. The have now adopted a new strategy and are instituting false criminal cases against Bishops and other Office Bearers and other leading members in the CNI, with the intention to destabilise and cripple the function of the CNI Synod, as well as spread false rumours amongst church members. The church is very concerned about the time and effort defending these false accusations and defending church owned land and property, as well as the spiralling costs involved. Whilst they are confident that ultimately the truth shall prevail and the unity of the Church shall be restored, they cannot afford to remain silent spectators to such malicious attaches putting the unity of the Church at risk. Pray that justice will prevail and that the authorities will put an end to such false attacks on the CNI. Pray for wisdom and guidance for the church leaders at this time and that those accused falsely will find strength and courage in the Lord and support from the church. Pray too for the CNI to remain strong and united in the face of this persecution. INDONESIA Rev Alfred Samani (General Chairman), Rev Marlin Lomi (General Secretary) and Rev Charles Detha (Secretary Department of Education and Training) of the Christian Church in Sumba (GKS) are currently on a visit to PCI. Give thanks that Rev Samani, Rev Lomi and Rev Detha will arrive safely as planned on Sunday evening (12th). Pray that the visit will be beneficial to both PCI and GKS, that our partnership will be strengthened as we learn from each other.

6 CHURCH NOTICES Summer Sunday Club We are making arrangements to have a Sunday Club running during July & August. We hope to give our Sunday School teachers a well-deserved break over the summer. To do this, like last year, we are asking for as many people as possible to volunteer to form a small group each week to supervise the small numbers of children who will be at services over the summer. The format will be an activity (Game, Craft or music etc.), followed by a Bible story and juice and biscuits. All materials and helpful advice will be provided in advance. If you would like to be involved on any Sunday, please sign up on the Summer Sunday Club Volunteer Sheet at the back of the church. Please note Creche will be operating as normal throughout the summer. CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10 th 16 th MAY This is the 70 th Anniversary of Christian Aid and here, in Fisherwick, we have an opportunity to support the organisation by helping the house-to-house collection during the above week.
