Sacrament of Christian Marriage: Please contact one of the priests eight months to a year in advance to schedule your wedding and begin preparations. Sacrament of Reconciliation: Saturday from 3:15-3:45 p.m. or anytime by appointment. Sacrament of the Sick: This sacrament is available to anyone who is ill. Please let us know if you or anyone you know is hospitalized or homebound. Welcome Please introduce yourselves and register in order to become a member of this community of believers. 2 HOLY CROSS CHURCH The following items are requested to help these local agencies serve those in need: Father Bill's/Mainspring Homeless Shelter in Brockton: Deodorant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, combs, canned vegetables Birthright: Baby wipes, diapers, small drug store gift cards Family & Community Resources: Canned soup, pasta and sauce, mac & and cheese, rice, canned fruit & vegetables, side dishes, toiletries My 's Brother's Keeper: Cooking oil, salt, pepper, spices, flour, sugar, baking mixes, pancake mix and maple syrup, sponges, foil, plastic baggies/ wrap, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, paper goods, dishwashing liquid Jon David Louison Family Shelter: Snacks for kids lunches, baking mixes, canned goods, macaroni and cheese, juice, pasta Donations are gratefully accepted in the vestibule of the church on the first Sunday of every month. Every month the agencies are amazed by how generous Holy Cross Parishioners are to those in need in the community. Thank you for your continued support! Prayer Ministry at Holy Cross Parish With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:18) If you or someone you know can use the support of prayer, there are various means of doing so here at Holy Cross Parish. You can add that person s name, and prayer intention if you wish, to our Book of Intercessions located in the church vestibule during the weekend and outside the Brother Andre Chapel in the parish center during the week. You can also call any member of the pastoral team to do this for you. Contact Fran Long at to have the person s name (and intention if you wish) placed in the parish prayer box, to be remembered at the monthly meeting of the intercessory prayer group. You are also invited to this monthly prayer meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Brother Andre Chapel immediately after the 9 a.m. mass. If you can t attend these meetings but would be interested in praying for some intentions at home, please contact Fran. If you wish someone to be remembered during the prayer of the faithful at a Sunday or weekday mass, contact Father Brad or Father Jim. We will announce a person s name only with the permission of that person or a family member. 2

4 JULY 1, 2018 Be sure to visit our Health Ministry Resource Center located in the vestibule of the church side entrance leading to the parish center. You will find literature on health care issues, and can also pick up a prayer shawl for yourself or someone in need. Care Notes are also available in the magazine rack in the church vestibule. The Health ministry will be performing blood pressure checks after the 4 p.m., 8:30 a.m., and 10 a.m. masses next weekend. TEENS ENTERING 9th GRADE THRU SENIORS IN HIGH SCHOOL, join 50,000 teens across America this summer who will be experiencing a Steubenville Youth Conference! Conferences are sponsored by LIFETEEN, a Catholic teen ministry and Fransican University of Ohio. This year's East Coast conference is at UMASS Lowell, Friday July 13 - Sunday July 15th. Our parish has reserved 10 spots - 5 female and 5 male. Cost is $100 per teen and covers food and conference fees. Participants stay on campus in the dorms. We may be thinking of long lazy hot summer days, but December will be here before we know it and it will be time for our Holy Cross annual HOLLY FAIR. Do you have ideas you d like to share? Have you looked at the FAIR and thought of doing it a different way? The HOLLY FAIR is in need of a new coordinator. Help is available. At times, the families of Holy Cross parishioners who have passed away request that gifts in their memories be made to Holy Cross Parish. These gifts are then used for special projects in the parish. This is a wonderful way to honor someone active in our parish at their passing. We invite you to consider remembering Holy Cross Parish in this way in your funeral arrangements or at the death of a loved one who is a parishioner of Holy Cross. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will help us continue to minister to the needs of our parishioners and the wider community.
