Participating in a Marriage Preparation Program is a requirement for the reception of this holy sacrament. Anointing of the sick Parishioners in serious illness, please contact one of our parish priests. 2 Sunday Collection: October 2, 2016 Regular: $7, God Blesses the generous giver! Fr. Al God s Plan for Giving Tithing is God s plan to support His Church. Full tithing means 10% of income to God. We ask half of this or 5% for your Parish Church. November 1 st is a HOLY DAY of OBLIGATION. We commemorate all the Saints of the Church. Saints are people who have gone before us and have lived the Christian Life to the fullest. We now believe that they are in Heaven and act as our intercessors. Many people have lively devotions to particular Saints. The Saints are also excellent role models and guides for us on our journey through life. The Holy Day Mass is October 31 st 5:00PM (Vigil); and November 1 st 6:30AM; 12:00Noon; 7:00PM November 2 nd is All Souls Day. We remember our beloved deceased and pray for them. We invite all families who have passed to write on the book of All Souls. They will be remembered at every Mass in November.. Masses for Wednesday, November 2 nd 6:30AM; 12:00Noon; 7:00PM BLESSED SACRAMENT CHAPEL Parishioners and friends are invited to visit the Lord everyday. Two candles are lit for the Blessed Sacrament every day. If you would like to make a donation for candles in memory of someone, please bring your donation to the rectory M - F 9am to 4:30pm. May the respect for the sacredness of every human life of every man and every woman, the poor, the elderly, children, the infirm, the unborn, the unemployed, the abandoned and those considered disposable be restored in our nation. May the women who find themselves in difficult or unplanned pregnancies have the courage and support to give their children the gift of Life. Each person has a place in God s heart from all eternity (AL 168). Within this context, Pope Francis reminds us, we are called to protect our humanity, and this means, in the first place, accepting it and respecting it as it was created (AL 56). Adult Faith (Every Monday in October) Start time: 7:00 PM in the Middle School on Rising Sun Avenue We will have a program called Reflections on the Y ear of Mercy by Father Michael Renninger. This is a DVD series with 5 sessions and reflection questions to deepen our experience of the Year of Mercy which ends on Nov. 20 th, Sessions begin at 7:00 PM on Oct. 3 rd. Coming in November, Jesus in the Gospel of John. Music Ministry Update: The Choir sings three times a month, rotating between the 5 PM Vigil, 9 AM and 12 PM Sunday Masses and for special event Liturgies throughout the year. Rehearsals are on Thursday s 7:15-8:30 PM in the church. Experience is helpful, but not necessary.
