3 Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time August 12, 2018 THIS WEEK S SECOND COLLECTION This weekend (August 11 & 12) there is a second collection to support the maintenance of both churches in the Holy Mothers Collaborative. All the money received will remain right here in the parish, and will help us to meet our ever increasing bills and financial obligations. We appreciate your generosity to these monthly maintenance collections. ONLINE GIVING & DIRECT WITHDRAWAL Thank you to all those who have already registered for Online Giving and Direct Withdrawal. Online Giving registration envelopes are still available at both churches. You can also register online at HolyMothers.WeShareOnline.org or by scanning the image here with your phone. Online Giving is a great way to support the collaborative and help us continue to meet our financial needs. WEDDING BANNS II. Thomas Peters & Kaitlyn Cooney HOSPITALITY MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS The Hospitality Ministry is seeking volunteers for both the 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses this fall. Volunteering involves once a month commitment, both before and after Mass. Orientation sessions (exact dates to be determined) will be held at the end of August. LIFE TEEN SMASH & MERCY SEWS MINISTRIES TEAM UP! A group of girls from Life Teen SMASH partnered with several women from the Mercy Sews Ministry to sew dresses for the Pygmy children in Bishop Dennis diocese. The girls attended Monday workshops during the month of July. They aimed to increase the dignity of all girls by sewing a new dress for a girl who may never have received one before. The collaboration between the two ministries was great fun as well as a big success! FRESH START MINISTRY Your continued support of the Fresh Start Ministry through donations of gift cards and wish list items during these summer months is most appreciated. Updated wish lists can be found in/near the donation bins at both churches. Donations of any wish list items are welcomed, though the current high demand items are listed below. High Need Items: -Bath Towel Sets -Cookware (Pots & Pans) -Twin/Full/Queen Mattress Pads & Protectors -Glassware Sets (Boxed) -Dinnerware Sets (Boxed, 16pc 4 place setting sets or more) Remember, all donated items should be new. Target gift cards, in an envelope clearly marked Fresh Start Ministry, may be brought to the Collaborative Offices or placed in the offertory. Thanks to you, we have assisted 7 families so far this year! GET INVOLVED AT HMC! There are dozens of ministries and volunteer opportunities at the Holy Mothers Collaborative. Turn to the last page of the bulletin to see our ministry list. COMFORT FOOD - CALLING ALL COOKS! Please consider joining the Comfort Food Ministry. Comfort Food is looking for more volunteers, as the requests for food remain steady. Volunteers cook at home and deliver a meal to someone requiring assistance due to incapacity. It is a wonderful way to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need. It is very easy to help; simply sign up for a slot on a meal schedule whenever you are available. FATIMA CANDLELIGHT VIGIL Monday, August 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. Portiuncula Chapel at Cardinal Cushing Centers Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a brief talk by Father Mike McNamara on the monthly Apparition of Fatima. Fatima devotions are held on the 13th of every month from May through October at the Portiuncula Chapel at the Cardinal Cushing Center, Route 53, Hanover. The service is hosted by the Saint Mary of the Portiuncula Order of Franciscan Seculars. All are most welcome to come and share in the blessings of this special devotion.
