GRAND ANNUAL LETTER All parishioners should have received a letter from Father Chris this past week regarding the Grand Annual Appeal and our Capital Campaign. LIFE TEEN SMASH CHRISTMAS HITS CD The Life Teen SMASH Band has returned with their second studio album, Life Teen SMASH Christmas Hits. Please join us for a special CD release party on Sunday, November 25 immediately following the Life Teen Mass. Christmas Hits will be on sale soon and will make the perfect Christmas gift for all your friends and family members! TEXAS HOLD EM TOURNAMENT The Holy Mothers Collaborative Texas Hold Em Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 7 p.m. at Saint Mary s Parish Center. The cost to enter is $50, with additional buybacks available. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the collaborative office at (781) Don t miss out on this fun event! Beginners are welcome to join in and learn how to play at their very own beginner table! A BIBLICAL WALK THROUGH THE MASS Beginning on Monday, December 3 (and continuing for each Monday of Advent), we will be showing a video series from Ascension Press titled A Biblical Walk Through the Mass. The video series will begin at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary s Parish Center. Each video is appr oximately 35 minutes in length, but during the first week we will show the Introduction & Session 1 (total time of about one hour). There is no registration form, fee, or homework. Just come and enjoy learning more about the Mass during the Advent season. WORKSHOP ON SERIOUS ILLNESS CARE & ADVANCE CARE PLANNING A Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning presentation will be given on Monday, November 26 at 7:15 p.m. at Saint Mary s Parish Center. Pr esented by the Archdiocese of Boston s Initiative for Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning, this presentation is for anyone experiencing serious illness, caregivers (including family members or professionals), and anyone needing tools to start the conversation about end of life issues. Come hear a presentation and join in a discussion about palliative care, a way for people to live better with serious illness that offers support for loved ones as well. 4 Holy Mothers Collaborative November 25, DAYS TO MORNING GLORY The Holy Mothers Collaborative will be hosting a 33 Days to Morning Glory retreat during the upcoming Advent season. Participants will have the opportunity to gather together weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Saint Mary s Parish Center to view a short video and engage in a period of direction and sharing led by Deacon Roger Vierra. If there are existing small communities who wish to meet with their already formed groups at their mutually agreed upon time, that is fine as well. Each participant is responsible for the $24 registration fee which covers the cost of the book and workbook. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY The HMC Prayer Shawl Ministry has prayer shawls and lap blankets available for anyone who would like to reach out to the sick, elderly, or home bound during the holiday season. If you would like one of these handmade blankets, please contact Clare Noonan at noon1010c@comcast.net or (781) FAMILY HEALING & RECOVERY MINISTRY Addiction hurts the body, mind, and spirit of both the individual and those who love them. The Family Healing from Addictions ministry meets at several locations each month. These meetings are held both for those suffering from addiction, as well as their loved ones. This time we will be supporting three local charities: Friends of the Unborn, which assists young women deal with crisis pregnancies; Pilgrims Hope, a shelter that helps families dealing with abusive situations transition back into society; And, our own Fresh Start Ministry, which helps families transition from a shelter to new living arrangements. As before, there will be a box in each church to collect the stamps. Thank you again for your generosity! SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY Throughout the year, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society assists families in our collaborative who are going through a difficult time. Saint Vincent de Paul is currently running very low on grocery gift cards for those in need. We gratefully accept donations of grocery gift cards (such as Stop & Shop or Shaw s) or money. These donations should be marked Saint Vincent de Paul and can be brought to the collaborative offices or put in the offertory basket. MS WELLNESS SELF-HELP GROUP This ongoing peer led group in affiliation with the National MS Society meets monthly (beginning in January 2019) on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Emilson Branch of the South Shore YMCA (75 Mill St, Hanover). FRESH START MINISTRY FALL UPDATE The Fresh Start Ministry anticipates several more families will be in need of our help in the coming months, but our donation inventory is very low. Updated wish lists can be found in/near the donation bins at both churches. Donations of the following high demand items are greatly appreciated: -Sheet sets (crib, full, & queen size) & pillows -Blankets & bedspreads (twin, full, & queen size) -Shower curtains, curtain rings, bath mats -Mixing bowl sets, bakeware (cookie sheets, cake tins, etc.) -Kitchen utensils, measuring cups, spatulas, whisks, etc. -Children s unbreakable plates, bowls, cups *We do NOT currently need bath towels or casserole dishes Remember, all donated items must be new and should be from the wish list. Target and Walmart gift cards, in an envelope marked Fresh Start Ministry, may be brought to the Collaborative Offices or placed in the offertory.
