At the check-in table your assignment will be confirmed, or changed (if another need has arisen that is greater). You will be given the name of the person to report to in your assigned area. * If you find that you will be able to volunteer another night, please let Dan Janelli know in the Volunteer Booth, so we can arrange an assignment for you for another day. Roche, was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacon at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson, NJ. This coming May 8 th, Deacon Charlie will not only be celebrating 25 years of serving as a Deacon for the Diocese of Paterson, with all 25 years serving at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. In addition to celebrating 25 years as a Deacon, Charlie and his wife Betty will be celebrating their 50 th Wedding Anniversary by renewing their wedding vows, at the 5:00PM Mass on Saturday, May 5 th. They invite the congregation to join in their commitment, love and joy of each other and this parish. CROWNING OF MARY Please join us on Sunday, May 13 th, for the Crowning of Our Blessed Mother Mary, immediately following the 12:00 Noon Mass. We will all process out to the statue of Mary, across the parking lot near the convent. All First Communion children are asked to attend the 12:00 Noon Mass, wearing their First Communion clothes and will participate in the crowning. We ask all attending the Crowning to bring either a cut flower that can be put in a vase, or a potted flower to decorate Our Blessed Mother s Shrine. Thank you. Though we will NOT be having a White Elephant Sale as part of our Carnival this year, we will be having a Parish sponsored White Elephant Sale in the Fall. All proceeds collected are donated directly to services that promote mothers bringing babies to term and their aftercare. Please participate in this Culture of Life effort; a pillar of Knight's service. All bottles will be collected at masses on Father's Day weekend. We thank you in advance for your support! Carnations for Moms We will be greeting all moms at the door on Mother's Day weekend with a carnation. It is our small way of acknowledging the gift of loving mothers that we too often take for granted. Thank you mom! This Mass will be highlighting the children, and we will be asking the children of the Parish to participate in the Mass in several ways, The Homily will be especially geared for them. We will have this Family Liturgy at the 10:30AM Mass, starting on May 6 th, and continuing on the first Sunday of each month. We encourage families to please join us! CCD classes have ended for this CCD year. Parents: Did you pick up a registration for next year s CCD classes? Parents are welcome to have the Baptism celebrated either at a week-end Mass or at the Liturgy of Baptism at 2:00 PM two Sundays a month. To make arrangements for Baptism please call the Parish Office or baptism@olqpnj.org Godparents must be confirmed, be active members of the church and attend Mass regularly. A sponsor certificate is required from each godparent. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION Before Daily Mass 8:40-9:00 AM Saturday 4:00-4:45 PM (or by appointment with Fr. Kamil) SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Please contact Parish Office and set up an appointment. Any Catholic couple needs approximately a year to prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, which includes sessions with the Priest celebrating the marriage and attendance at Pre-Cana conferences. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK / HOSPITAL VISITS We are strongly committed to the spiritual care of the sick. Because of privacy laws, hospitals and nursing homes are not allowed to release the patient s religious affiliation. Therefore, we must depend on families of our sick parishioners to inform us of their whereabouts and condition. Please notify the parish office of any need for a home or hospital visit. RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a program for people who seek full initiation in the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, which are received at the Easter Vigil. For information, please contact the parish office. Sacrament Preparation Available in Polish Sacramental Catechesis for First Communion and Confirmation is also available in Polish.
