The month of November is not far off. Fall and nostalgic weather as well as prolonged evenings are conducive to a reflection about our life and passing. During this month, our thoughts and hearts, more than ever, are directed toward those loved ones who have gone before us and now sleep in peace. In the whole universal Church, on November 1 st, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. On one day, we honor all those whose lives were pleasing to God, and are officially honored as saints. The very following day, November 2 nd, we remember the memory of all the faithful departed (All Souls) whom God has called from this life. Those are our relatives, friends and neighbors who passed the threshold of eternity. As fellow believers on the other side of the river of death, through our prayer, we can assist our loved ones on their way to Heaven. Let s not forget that they can no longer help themselves. Praying for the dead is a Christian obligation. In the modern world, when many have come to doubt the Church's teaching on Purgatory, the need for such prayers has only increased. Responding to our Christian call to pray for the dead, Our Lady Queen of Peace Family offers its parishioners and guests a special opportunity for a prayer for deceased loved ones. During the last week of October and the first two weeks of November, in our Chapel of Remembrance (rear Annex) you can spend some time in prayer and meditation. Bring a photo of your loved one putting it by the cross, light a candle and say a prayer. There is no better gift you can give to the dead than your prayer. All deceased will be remembered at Saturday morning Masses throughout the month of November. Fr. Kamil

Rosary Prayer Intentions for October (provided by Our Legions of Mary) SPECIAL October Rosary Intentions: that our priests, nuns and all the clergy go freely and quickly to those parts of the world where the poor and downtrodden need support, comfort and relief that the clergy elevate those marginalized people who are never considered worthy by others to a high level of prominence and recognition that the clergy become the voice and representatives of the unspoken and quiet majority expressing for these people, their needs, hopes and concerns that the clergy encourage the laity to seek out, to comfort, to aid and to support all those people less fortunate than themselves and give freely their time and efforts that the clergy devote a portion of their day in daily for the intentions of the poor, marginalized and reticent citizenry that parishioners in all churches eagerly and generously respond to special religious visitors requesting financial and spiritual contributions to aid the missionaries throughout the world. ON-GOING Personal Rosary Intentions Joyful Mysteries for the unborn, newly born, young children, teenagers, families and friendships. Luminous Mysteries for the newly baptized, those receiving confession and the Holy Eucharist for the first time, newlyweds and those already married love/peace/unity now and forever. Sorrowful Mysteries for the sick and suffering, the dying, the oppressed, the tortured, the persecuted, the lonely, the abandoned and the depressed. Glorious Mysteries for the souls in purgatory, forgotten souls, newly confirmed and ALL life, the intercession of Mary to Jesus for our daily intentions and the requested intentions of others. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CORNER Breakfast is Back!! The Knights will kick off the breakfast season with their fabulous breakfast on Sunday, October 21 st, from 8AM to Noon. Eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, coffee, juice and more! Come with your family and friends and help support the Knights Education Fund. Senior and kids priced menu items too! Come join us for our 8 th Annual Trunk-or-Treat! Friday, October 26, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Peace (Rain or Shine!) $3.00 admission includes meal ticket for a hot dog, chips and a drink. Additional meal tickets are $3.00. Volunteers can earn service hours at this event. Registration forms are available at the doors of the church and in the Rectory. Children in our CCD classes received registrations at class last week. Please return the form, with cash or check made out to Our Lady Queen of Peace, in a sealed envelope to the attention of Janet Scheil, no later than Tuesday, October 23 rd. You may also leave the envelope in the black mailbox outside the back entrance of the Rectory, no later than Tuesday, October 23 rd. Our Next Family Liturgy is scheduled for Sunday, November 4 th, at the 10:30AM Mass. Our CCD classes will be starting to participate in the Mass in several ways, and the children are invited forward to sit during the homily. We encourage families to please join us!

Kamil) SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Please contact Parish Office and set up an appointment. Any Catholic couple needs approximately a year to prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, which includes sessions with the Priest celebrating the marriage and attendance at Pre-Cana conferences. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK / HOSPITAL VISITS We are strongly committed to the spiritual care of the sick. Because of privacy laws, hospitals and nursing homes are not allowed to release the patient s religious affiliation. Therefore, we must depend on families of our sick parishioners to inform us of their whereabouts and condition. Please notify the parish office of any need for a home or hospital visit. RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a program for people who seek full initiation in the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, which are received at the Easter Vigil. For information, please contact the parish office. Sacrament Preparation Available in Polish Sacramental Catechesis for First Communion and Confirmation is also available in Polish.
