The month of November is not far off. Fall and nostalgic weather as well as prolonged evenings are conducive to a reflection about our life and passing. During this month, our thoughts and hearts, more than ever, are directed toward those loved ones who have gone before us and now sleep in peace. In the whole universal Church, on November 1 st, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. On one day, we honor all those whose lives were pleasing to God, and are officially honored as saints. The very following day, November 2 nd, we remember the memory of all faithful departed (All Souls) whom God has called from this life. Those are our relatives, friends and neighbors who passed the threshold of eternity. As fellow believers on the other side of the river of death, through our prayer we can assist our loved ones on their way to Heaven. Let s not forget that they can no longer help themselves. Praying for the dead is a Christian obligation. In the modern world, when many have come to doubt the Church's teaching on Purgatory, the need for such prayers has only increased. Responding to our Christian call to pray for the dead, Our Lady Queen of Peace Family offers its parishioners and guests a special opportunity for a prayer for deceased loved ones. During the last week of October and the first two weeks of November, in our Chapel of Remembrance (rear Annex) you can spend some time in prayer and meditation. Bring a photo of your loved one putting it by the cross, light a candle and say a prayer. There is no better gift you can give to the dead than your prayer. All deceased will be remembered at Saturday morning Masses throughout the month of November. Fr. Kamil

The Diocese of Paterson invites you to celebrate your 25th or 50th wedding anniversary during a special Mass to be offered at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson, NJ. Congratulations on this joyous occasion! Our Next Family Liturgy is scheduled for Sunday, November 4 th, at the 10:30AM Mass. The boys of St. Joseph Regional HS (SJR) Montvale, NJ invite high school girls (grades 9-12) to audition for this year s musical BRIGHT STAR. This production has 11 characters who have solos and 12 ensemble numbers plus ALL MAJOR ROLES ARE DOUBLE CAST. Parents are welcome to have the Baptism celebrated either at a week-end Mass or at the Liturgy of Baptism at 2:00 PM two Sundays a month. Kamil) SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Please contact Parish Office and set up an appointment. Any Catholic couple needs approximately a year to prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, which includes sessions with the Priest celebrating the marriage and attendance at Pre-Cana conferences. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK / HOSPITAL VISITS We are strongly committed to the spiritual care of the sick. Because of privacy laws, hospitals and nursing homes are not allowed to release the patient s religious affiliation. Therefore, we must depend on families of our sick parishioners to inform us of their whereabouts and condition. Please notify the parish office of any need for a home or hospital visit. RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a program for people who seek full initiation in the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, which are received at the Easter Vigil. For information, please contact the parish office. Sacrament Preparation Available in Polish Sacramental Catechesis for First Communion and Confirmation is also available in Polish.
