Barcenas Custom Tile Volunteers Needed The Children & youth will have a float in the Community Christmas parade and need the help of Parishioners ~ parents ~ staff & students to help build and decorate the float. Also we need to prepare costumes for the children/youth to wear and music for them to sing at the parade on December 5th Please call Mrs. Scott at TEXAS MOBILE IMAGING will be here next Friday & Saturday ~ November 13th & 14th. They offer painless onsite ultrasound screenings of the Vascular System for the early detection of Cardiovascular Disease. A representative will be here after all Masses this weekend to give you more information and to schedule your screening. Sacred Heart School News... On Friday, November 13, there will be no school as the teachers will be attending the Diocesan Catholic Educators Conference in Corpus Christi. The Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive has begun. Each year our students and staff members bring in food items that will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society's Food Bank. We offer them at our Mass on Friday, November 20, at 8:00am. All are invited to join us in this service to our community. The next School Advisory Council meeting will be held on Monday, November 30, at 5:15pm in the school library. We are providing the fleece shoulder wraps for those experiencing difficult emotional and physical times or for anyone who just needs to feel the enormous gift of love and warmth that flows from these wraps. The Prayer Wrap is a symbol of a faith sharing community wrapping the individual who receives it in prayer and they are sewn with love and given to those in need of comfort. The very threads become interwoven with pleas for healing on behalf of the recipient. The sewing volunteers will commit their time and talent as they fulfill their part in the construction of these fleece shoulder wraps. After the wraps are completed, they are blessed by a Prayer Wrap which brings comfort to the suffering and peace to the fearful. When a recipient sees and touches these wraps, they know they are not alone, that they are lifted in healing prayer and there are those who do care about them. If you have a sewing machine and are interested in volunteering your time and talent, we would love for you to join us. We all gather and work together once or twice a month (usually on a Friday).
