They are hardworking, high integrity, intelligent young women and men who know that God has great plans for them and they have the ability to accomplish a great deal. Now that they have completed their Confirmation they should use their skills and become members of our Youth Group. We meet Monday evenings and they re always welcomed. First Communion Join us in the First Communion Ceremonies on Saturday, April 21 st at the 4:00 pm mass and Sunday, April 22 nd at the 9:00 pm Mass. Registration for Next School Year We re continuing the registration for Religious Education students for the next school year for children in the First Grade thru Youth Group. We re working very hard to develop a strong Religious Education Program here at San Felipe de Neri and registering your children in our program will allow us to work with their families to teach the children the beauty of our Catholic faith. The meals will go to families in need in New Mexico and in third world countries. While packaging the food, students reflected upon their sacrifices and focused on giving to others during the Lenten observance. FREE Deaf Retreat on April 21, 2018 At the Madonna Center 4040 St. Joseph Place NW Albuquerque, NM Fr. Shawn is one of the few deaf priests in the US, and since June of 2012 has worked as the full-time Director of the Deaf Apostolate in the Archdiocese of Boston. He has been actively involved in various marriage preparation programs and currently one of the team chaplains for Transformed in Love. 5 BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST Throughout the Easter season, all three of the Sunday readings are taken from the New Testament the Christian scriptures. Together they explore what it means to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the One who fulfilled the prophecies of the Jewish scriptures. Today s selections refer to our human weakness, yet they emphasize the forgiveness and peace that are available to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ the righteous one (1 John 2:2). In the Acts of the Apostles Peter invites everyone to repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away (Acts 3:19). The First Letter of John calls Jesus Christ expiation for our sins (1 John 2:2). Finally, in the Gospel Jesus greets the disciples with Peace and urges them to preach repentance, for the forgiveness of sins (Luke 24:47).
