SACRAMENTS Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick: Is offered to Parishioners who are seriously ill or in danger of death. Please call early in the illness of a loved one to arrange for the Sacrament. The Sacrament is administered to the living. In the event of death prayers are offered. 3 TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME FOR THE RIDE HOME First Reading: Hb 1: 2-3 Second Reading: 2 Tm 1: 6-8 Gospel: Lk 17: 5-10 Christmas Craft Fair Sunday, December 4th, 2016 Have you ever felt frustrated by the lack of your own faith? Have you ever felt you didn't trust God enough in a certain area of life? Faith is a quality we like to treat as a quantity. Faith is spiritual "stuff." We feel like we're failing if we don't have enough. We may even fall into the temptation to compare our faith with others. And, of course, "faith" is measured in the behavior of "spiritual" people. Do we pray enough? Praise God enough? Moral enough? Serve others enough? The apostles faced the same temptation. They felt inadequate, compared to Jesus. His ministry was the measuring stick for others. They wanted to do what Jesus did. So, they asked the Master for the power of faith. The answer they received must have surprised them. Reflect on how you exercised your faith this week. Plan one way to grow (reading Scripture, praying, helping others, being involved in the Church). And, just do it. COME JOIN US! As adults, we thank her for all she had done for us. Now we are blessed with the opportunity to turn to our Heavenly Mother Mary to ask for her support and guidance, and thank her for the many blessings she has given us. Every Wednesday after 9:00 AM mass (at 9:30), you are invited to join us as we pray the rosary to ask for her help and guidance and to thank her for her abounding love.

5 TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Annual Blessing of the Animals Annual blessing of the animals will take place at 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 on the plaza of the Church. Join Deacon Joe as we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. All parish families are welcomed to bring their pets for a special blessing.

6 Mercy is the force that reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look to the future with hope - Pope Francis **One Faith, Family and Community is the theme around which we are sharing the inspiring story of the Catholic Ministries Appeal. **As One Faith Family, we are called as a community to show mercy to others as Pope Francis has asked us to do in this extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy. **Supporting the Catholic Ministries Appeal gives each of us a remarkable opportunity to show mercy to others and touch the lives of so many who are in our family of faith and in our community a neighbor in need of food or shelter, a young man or woman finding their way to God through our youth or campus ministry programs, or a deacon or seminarian studying to serve in our Diocese. Thanks to the generosity of 192 of our parish families, we have received over $45,000 in pledges to this year s Catholic Ministries Appeal. The bad news is that last year at this time we had received over $48,000 from 235 families. So we have a long way to go to reach that total. The good news is we have over 3,000 families in our parish and we still have 5 months left in this years campaign to make and complete new pledges. So we have the potential to not only reach our goal of $50,800 but we can surpass last year s total of $50,941. In a world of so many troubles, it s easy to feel like there is nothing we can do to make a difference. But we can help feed the hungry. We can see that our seniors are provided with services and shelter. We can provide guidance through troubled times. We can make sure that no one feels alone. If you have not already made a donation to this year s appeal you can make a difference. Please support the ministries of our diocese & parish by making a pledge to the Catholic Ministries Appeal.
