1 ST. MARY MYSTICAL ROSE GUIDING LIGHT We the faithful of St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish are a Catholic Community in the Archdiocese of Detroit. We serve God through His Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, with the empowerment and the strength of the Holy Spirit: to celebrate the Holy Sacraments and Worship, Christian Service and Faith Education, to evangelize and practice our faith in active stewardship--with the faith, spirit and humility of Mary, the Rose of God and our Patron Saint. Solemnity Feast Day Of Pentecost Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you, (John 20:19:23). Do you have a portrait of your whole family smiling at the camera hanging in your house? Looking and reflecting on the portrait of my family reminds me of how perfect it is to see the smiles on everyone s face. How amazing it is to gather together, laugh together, and very happy to see one another. The love we have and the bond of togetherness of being a family forever! You may say, Perfect? Yes, apart from the picture in reality of life, a member of a family falter or not nearby perfection. And yet, despite of these differences, we are still a family. We still love each other! On this Solemnity Feast of Pentecost, Jesus came and appeared to His family. His family is made up of apostles and disciples with different personalities, most of them were not perfect, but as time goes on, they were made outstanding members. On this Feast of Pentecost, Jesus came to us, as He did to His Apostles, commissioned and entrusted to us His blessings, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit, (John 2:19-23). On the other hand, the Second Reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians (12:3-7, 12-13), the apostle reminds his community and all of us, we are baptized in one Spirit and we are one body in the Lord. God produces all different kinds of spiritual gifts in us, so that as baptize members of His Church, we will bring to one another and the world the gifts of His love, peace and hope. Therefore, the Holy Spirit imparted on the Church and her members His gifts to empower and strengthen the Churches mission of salvation to the human race. The Churches mission is to proclaim the Good News of God and to call people of goodwill to adhere the commandments of the Lord. Brothers and sisters, we are living the life of the Holy Spirit. His living breath is the reason why we live, move and have our being. Live the life of the Spirit. Bring your families and friends to our worship and liturgy. Come together and praise our amazing and awesome Lord. He loves you, He loves, He loves you! He is calling you and your loved ones to His heavenly banquet, the holy Eucharist! God is calling you, your family and friends to celebrate our lives with Him in His greatest gift. The greatest gift of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ offers for you and I. Remember as baptized children of God, let your faith becomes alive! Keep smiling and keep loving one another. Let the living portrait of God s family permeate its radiance to love, to proclaim, to forgive, and be Jesus disciples to serve one other. Therefore, illuminate and enlighten with the gifts our Lord Jesus has given us by the Holy Spirit, we are sent to be messengers of good tidings to the world. We are witnesses to testify to the mission of our Lord and God in our families, His Church, and the world to bring faith, truth, peace, and love to the world who is in desperate need of it. On this Solemnity Feast of Pentecost, we are also celebrating our anniversary to the Priesthood of Christ. Happy 13 years to all my classmates and to all brother priests who were ordained on this special Solemnity Feast Day of Pentecost!!! Happy Pentecost! Today we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. At Pentecost, the Apostles and their followers were gathered in a room. Jews from all over the world were gathered with Peter, the leader of the Apostles and the Eleven. At this time, a great wind blew and a flame appeared as a tongue of fire, which split itself into many individual flames above the heads of all those present. The Holy Spirit came upon these people and each began to speak in tongues. Despite the fact many had no common language, they were perfectly able to understand one another. The Apostles began to bravely teach the message of Jesus Christ who died, was risen and offered eternal life to all who believed. We celebrate the birth of our Church on Pentecost. We also celebrate the call of each and everyone of us, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to continue to share the message of Jesus Christ Faith Formation registration is in progress. Forms are available in the lower Narthex, on the website at or by . Registrations may be dropped off at the parish office or in the collection basket. Our VBS will is scheduled for August 7-11 with evening sessions from 6-8:30pm. In this year of the 100th Anniversary of Fatima, we will be exploring the Marion apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Knock, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Join us for an exciting journey through scripture, and the messages of God delivered through Mary, our mother. Adult and youth volunteers are welcomed! It is a very happy and busy week in the St Mary Mystical Rose Food Booth and we need all of you to volunteer and help with our largest fund raiser of the year. Children must be at least 10 years of age to help out. If they are helping, a responsible adult must accompany them. Ask your family members and friends to work a shift or two or three with you. Cashiers will be called to attend a training session prior to Fair Week. You may also go to our website and sign up online. MARRIAGE: If one of the engaged couple (or their parents) is registered at St. Mary s arrangements may be made personally by the couple at least six months in advance months is preferred. ANNULMENT PROCESS: If you are contemplating filing for an annulment; know that it is a healing process.
