Romans 13:12 BE PREPARED Be prepared. It s that simple. As this Advent season opens before us, the Lord Jesus summons us to stand ready for his coming. At this time of year much of our attention is focused on being prepared for the details that accompany the holiday season. We purchase gifts; we decorate our homes, inside and out; we prepare foods that we eat only during the holidays; we write and send Christmas cards; we attend holiday concerts; we prepare either to welcome family and friends into our homes or arrange for visits to their homes. We really can t escape the details that make up the season. Perhaps this Advent is a time to attend to all those details with a different spin. As we prepare to celebrate the feast of Christmas, why not be deliberate about acknowledging the presence of the Lord as we go about these tasks? ROSARY/DIVINE MERCY Please join us in reciting the Rosary every morning (Monday through Saturday) at 7:35 am before daily Mass. It is a beautiful and spiritual way to start your day. Every day following weekday Mass, we invite you to join us for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It starts about five minutes after Mass (around 8:35 am). It can be the best fifteen minutes of the day. Francis was born in Spain on Apr. 7, he was sent to the University of Paris 1525, met Ignatius Loyola and became one of the seven who in 1534, at Montmartre founded the Society of Jesus. He was ordained there in 1537, went to Rome in 1538, and in 1540, when the pope formally recognized the Society, was ordered, to the Far East as the first Jesuit missionary. After a year's voyage, he arrived in Goa, India in He preached to the natives and attempted to reform his fellow Europeans, living among the natives and adopting their customs on his travels. During the next decade he converted tens of thousands to Christianity. In 1552 he set out for China, landed on the island of Sancian within sight of his goal, but died before he reached the mainland. He was canonized in 1622 and proclaimed patron of all foreign missions by Pope Pius X.

This miraculous image has proved to be ageless, and is kept in the shrine built in her honor, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world, and the world's third mostvisited sacred site.
