VBS CD s have been put in Narthex mailboxes of families that have already registered for this year s VBS. Please pick yours up today and start enjoying the sounds of VBS 2015!!! Next Healing Service on Tuesday, May 26 We hold a Service for Healing at 5:45 p.m. Intended for any who suffer from infirmities of the body, mind or spirit, the service will include an opportunity for prayer and anointing for the person attending or on behalf of another. The service will also include scripture, corporate prayer, hymns and music. The next Baptism Class will be Tuesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please contact the church office at or see Pastor Christine. Quilters News The quilters will meet in May on Thursday; May 28 from 9 a.m. to Noon. This will be our last day before summer break. Crafter s Corner Our June crafting dates are Thursdays, June 4 and 18 at 9 a.m. in Mygatts Corner. If you are interested in crafts, come join this fun group, and/or bring in ideas for new projects for us to work on.

4 May 23 & 24 Page 4 Relay for Life Racine ~ 2015 June 12 13, Racine Zoo Please join us for fun, fellowship, and remembering at Relay for Life on Friday, June 12, at Racine Zoo starting at 6 p.m. Look for our banner and tent on the track. You may want to bring a chair. If you are interested in signing up to walk around the track there is a sign up on the Relay for Life table in the narthex. Hope to see you there! Would you like to purchase a Luminaria in memory or in honor of someone? Luminarias are displayed on the track and lit during a special ceremony during Relay for Life. Angel Wings are a way of thanking any caregiver who provided love, support, and care for someone who has/had cancer. A suggested donation of $5 per Luminaria/Angel Wings will help fight against cancer. Look for these in the Narthex starting middle to end of May. MPLC Red Cross Blood Drive Friday, June 19 ~ 1-6 p.m. Come donate blood here at MPLC! The Red Cross is always in need! Thank you to one of our high school youth members, Rachel Brown for helping with recruiting donors and volunteers this year! Please sign up in the narthex to donate blood or volunteer at the drive! If you have any questions, contact Rachel Brown, Matt Kaesermann or Pastor Krista. MPLC SCRIP make mission happen As Pastor Dave likes to say You re going to spend the money anyway: Make Mission Happen! NEW We are again offering low denomination SCRIP cards! Stock up for grads and teachers gifts! We should have the following in stock each week: $5 Starbucks, $5 Pizza Hut & $10 Applebees. Other low denomination cards can be ordered to arrive the next week. Stop by the SCRIP table in the narthex today!

5 May 23 & 24 Page 5 The annual MPLC Rummage Sale Saturday, July 18. Donations may now be dropped off at the 16 th Street entrance. Rummage sale items we accept include gently used clothing and household goods. The rummage sale does not accept the following items: Computers, monitors, computer keyboards, printers, televisions, DVD players, VHS players, microwaves, organs and pianos, Christmas trees, large Christmas decorations, drop-side cribs, car seats and booster seats. We are asking that you wait to bring furniture until the week before the sale. Work on sorting for the rummage sale will begin Tuesday, June 2. There will be two different times each Tuesday: 9 a.m. Noon, and 6 8 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing some new faces as well as those that have worked the rummage sale in the past. If you are interested in working either of these times or helping out in other ways, such as listing some of our better items on ebay, please contact Kate Lingsweiler at , Shirley Kerkman at or Judy Smith at Hospitality Center Saturday, June 6 St. Luke s Episcopal Church, 614 Main Street The next first Saturday brunch will be Saturday, June 6. You are invited to come for brunch (and help). We are in need of Help with clean up from noon Volunteers for an hour or two between 8 a.m. and Noon. 3 Egg Bakes ( Nancy for a recipe that can be made ahead). 2 Gallons Milk 2 Gallons Juice Fruit (enough for 12 servings fresh, canned or frozen) Donations of coffee, sugar and creamer are always welcome. The egg bakes need to be brought, warmed, to St. Luke s Church on Saturday morning. (Or make ahead and bring to MPLC freezer). The other items can be brought to MPLC by NOON on Friday, June 5, and they will be delivered to St. Luke s. (Please let the office know if you bring items to church.) 6 May 23 & 24 Page 6 MPLC Men s Softball Update Our first game was May 19, and we opened the top of the first inning with batting through the order and 6 runs. We held the lead till the bottom of the 5th when St. John's doubled their score making it It stayed that way till the end of the game. Very good effort for the 10 players attending and a very chilly 38 degrees. Next week s game is at 8:30 p.m. at Cliffside Park Northwest Diamond. BE A SPORT! BE A FAN! Campbell s Labels/Box Tops for Education Please save Campbell labels and box tops to help West Ridge Elementary School!
