St. Luke s Knights of Columbus Council #10240 Crown Free Throw Champions Five boys and girls from St. Luke s, ages 10 to 14, were named local champions of the 2012 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. St. Luke s Knights of Columbus Council #10240 sponsored the local competition in the new gym at St. Luke. All youngsters ages 10 to 14 were eligible to participate. Victoria Reyes was the 10-year-old girls champion and Emmett Pena was the winner of the 10-year old-boys division. In the 11-year-olds bracket, Ozzy Cuellar was the boys champion. The 13-year-old boys division was won by Michael Marotta and the 14-year-old boys division was won by Arthur Flores. Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attempts in the contest. Ties were settled by successive rounds of five free throws per contestant until a winner emerged. We would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the contestants who participated in the local contest. Please keep an eye out in January 2013 for the next Free Throw local competition in which the winners will move on to the district competition with an eye toward moving on to the state and international levels.

Jesus Anguiano-Rivera to serve at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton. This assignment goes into effect on July 1st. We thank Fr. Jesus for the gift of his priesthood and his service to our community. He will be greatly missed! Please join us as we say farewell to Fr. Jesus, with refreshments following our 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Masses on June 24th by the St. Luke statue. Future in Faith Listening Sessions Archbishop Gustavo Garía-Siller, M.Sp.S. has invited the Archdiocese of San Antonio, our entire local Church, into a process of visioning and planning. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he is asking us to consider and develop a mutually shared vision and pastoral priorities so that we may together grow in our discipleship and become missionaries of Jesus Christ. He invites us to reflect together on our Future of Faith. Much of the success of this project depends upon input from each of you, and Archbishop Gustavo welcomes you to attend one of the Listening Sessions conveniently scheduled around the Archdiocese: Church of the Holy Spirit (English and Español) 758 Ramsey Rd., San Antonio June 22 from 6:30-8 p.m. (22 de Junio) Join a choir for the summer! The 11:30am Sunday Mass Choir invites singers to join them for the summer. Rehearsals are held at 11:00am Sunday before Mass in the St. Joseph Room and stay after Mass for 15 minutes to prepare for the next Sunday. It s a great way to expand your prayer life, share your talent with our community and enjoy fellowship with other singers. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Are you asking? Are you seeking? Have you knocked? Jesus is waiting for you to seek Him. All you have to do is ask, or knock on His door. RCIA may be that door if you are interested in learning more about Jesus, and a way to find faith unity. RCIA is the process where non- Catholics can learn more about the Catholic Church and to determine if the Catholic Faith is where God is leading them. RCIA is also for some Catholics who never completed their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation & Eucharist). RCIA classes for will begin after Labor Day in September. We wish them all the best during their summer vacation and look forward to seeing them next school year. Good luck goes out to our graduated 8th graders as they will be preparing for their new lives as high school students when the new school year begins. This school year was wonderful as we were all filled with many blessings and memories. The year ended with a fulfillment of activities and events.
