3 St. luke catholic church San Antonio, texas May 22, 2011 Commissioning of Eucharistic Ministers St. Luke Habitat House # 10, Dedicated and Blessed on Saturday May 7 th Eucharistic Ministers Training was held March 15, 2011 in the church. Those who attended this training but have not been contacted for the commissioning, please call Robert Torres, coordinator, at or Commissioning for Eucharistic Ministers is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, at the 4 p.m. Mass. Pictures of the St. Luke volunteers taken on the construction and landscaping days are on display in the church foyer this weekend. Please continue to pray for all the families we have helped, refer any questions or comments to Homer and Sue Young Professionals The St. Luke s Young Professionals is a group of young adults (20s, 30s & 40s) that meet for one hour of each week to reflect and discuss various aspects of our faith, especially in regard to applying our faith in our daily lives. The Young Professionals meet every Tuesday from 8pm to 9pm in the Parish Center. Youth Summer Retreats Our Parish will hold a Freshman ACTS Retreat (for inbound Freshman High School students) on June at St. Mary s University. The cost of the retreat is $ A Youth ACTS Retreat for inbound Sophomores-Seniors will be held on July 7-10 at L.A.B.I. The cost of the retreat is $ Are you yearning for a spiritual experience after ACTS? Our third annual Kephas Retreat for inbound high school juniors/seniors and graduating seniors will be held on July at Cordi-Marian Retreat Center. The Kephas Retreat is tailored for those who have previously attended an ACTS retreat. The cost of the retreat is $ * A $65.00 deposit will reserve your place for any of the retreats. How about a local mission trip, there are families here in San Antonio that need assistance. The Archdiocese of San Antonio and St. Mark the Evangelist has a great local mission project called San Antonio Neighbors Youth Mission Camp St. Lukes will be taking a group this year. Where: Holy Rosary Catholic Church on the grounds of St. Mary s University 159 Camino Santa Maria San Antonio Tx When: Sunday, June 12 to Saturday, June 18 Time: Check in 12 p.m. on Sunday Cost: $200 per person Service hours from this project will be acceptable for 2012 Confirmation. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Our RCIA participants are continuing with the RCIA process, strengthening their faith and building their future in the Catholic Faith Community. In today s Gospel we are reminded that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life; that only through Jesus can we reach eternal life. We only have to ask Jesus for His help during our trials on earth. Sometimes help is sent to us by Jesus through other members of our Faith Community and its ministries. Join Fr. The Director of Teen ACTS Ministry is a full time position to foster the evangelization and education efforts for Teen ACTS. He or she will report to the Executive Director of ACTS Missions, with the help and guidance of an experienced Teen ACTS Committee. The successful applicant should have the following qualifications: Catholic At least two years experience in Youth Ministry. Some one with youth ministry certification is highly desired. Experience with Teen ACTS, in both team and leadership roles. Excellent office skills; MS Office suite of products, QuickBooks, PowerPoint, databases are examples Strong presentation skills. Strong training skills, both in creating and conducting training sessions. Bilingual (Spanish and English) very helpful. College degree very helpful.
