5 Words from Our Pastor Fr. Ben Greetings from my family and friends from my home country Uganda. I left for my vacation at the beginning of June and celebration of my jubilee year together with the others with whom I was ordained 25 years ago. Thank you for your prayers and great support for the successful celebration here at St. James in May and at home on July 7th. Once more, I say thank you and God s blessings be upon you. This is my third year here at St. James as your Pastor. I remember how welcoming everyone was when the Bishop came to install me as the Pastor here. The same was accorded to my Vicar, Fr. Felix, when he came. Many of you came to provide for us to make sure we are comfortable and happy, in the community. I reflect on the joyful celebrations of Sacraments like Baptism, First Holy communion, Confirmation and Weddings and sad moments like funerals of our beloved parishioners. It has always been an honor for us to serve the community as it is our commitment to do so. I also would like to thank you for your great support to the parish as a lot was accomplished the last fiscal year. We participated in the Diocesan Capital Campaign, Together Let Us Go, the successful CDA, the support to St. Vincent De Paul and the spiritual events that we accomplished like the 40 hours of Adoration and the weekly moment before the Blessed Sacrament, the Advent and Lenten missions. The participation in different ministries that makes us a parish. Many times, we are blown away by your compassionate generosity and willingness to serve. This is seen as you commit yourself in different ministries both spiritual and what we may term as the temporary goods of the church like fundraisers to supplement the income of the parish like the Rummage sale, Neighborhood Fair etc. Sometimes, the same faces are seen in many of the activities in the life of the parish. For those who have not been actively participating, I call upon you to join the rest of our parishioners to participate in the life of the parish. Many have been inspirational through their stewardship. Thanks and may God bless you abundantly. GOD IS GOOD AND HE IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.
