Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is every Friday beginning at 8:30 AM and concludes with Benediction at 7:00 PM. Every Monday from 6:00PM, concluding with Benediction at 8:00 PM. During exposition, Jesus cannot be left unattended. Adoration = ONE hour. There are 10 hours of Adoration on Friday and 2 hours on Monday. Come visit Jesus, the Prince of Peace, the Creator of the Universe, the Merciful Savior, for just one of these Hours. Must be a registered parishioner for six months. Preparation classes are required. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Call the Parish Office when seriously ill. Communal Anointing is held on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM. This includes the Mass Coordinator, EM s, Lectors & Hospitality that help with the Liturgy of the Mass at 4:00 pm each Saturday. Stop by to visit with them, let them know of any interest in helping and thank them for their ministry work at St James. The definition of a registered, active, participating member, includes attending Mass regularly, as well as contributing with an envelope to the Offertory along with supporting the ministry life of the Parish. 5 Save the Date - April 14, 2018 The next 2018 St. James Neighborhood planning meeting will be held on Monday, March 5th at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall. We need you! Help the parish plan a successful event and raise funds by sharing your ideas and talents. For additional information, contact Thelia Morris at Additional Volunteers will be needed the day of the event. Sign Up sheets will be available starting the weekend of March 3rd and 4th. 7 Scripture Study Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. A Fun, Flexible, Faith-filled Catholic Club for girls! St. Jerome Our next Scripture session will be March 15th at 7:00PM in the Parish Hall. Please contact the Parish Office for more information. The Monday Afternoon Tea Ministry will meet every Monday at 12:30 p.m. Bring a snack to share. This ministry crochets or knits beanies, buntings, afghans, etc. for different charities. If you don t know how to knit or crochet, we ll teach you. We have extra knitting looms and yarn to share. Please join us. Our Brown Bag Ministry, sponsored by St. Mary s Food Bank, is open every Thursday morning in the Hall. They distribute food from 8:00am to 9:00am. Items vary but include: bread, vegetables, and fruit. There is no cost but you will need to sign in and provide your zip code. Little Flowers Girls Club is a Catholic club for girls ages 5 and up that teaches virtues through scripture, saints biographies and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Class on Tuesday, March 6th at 6:00 pm. PRO-LIFE MINISTRY Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at 6 PM Please join us in promoting the sanctity of life. The funeral for Ralph Wydra, former St. James Parishioner, will be held on Wednesday March 7th at 11am, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa, IL. Ralph was very active at St. James where not only was he a member of the staff but also shared his talents on the Finance Council and many other ministries. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation.
