3 Dear Folks: Peace Having finished Lent and Holy Week, my thanks to all who labored to make our common worship a grace filled and prayerful experience. It was particularly gratifying to see how well the two parishes of All Souls and St. Jude were able to pool their resources and talents for our combined Easter services. The new Parish Council for All Souls met for the first time this past Sunday. Regular meetings of the Council will commence beginning May 10th, and will repeat at 7pm each second Wednesday of the month in the Rectory. My personal congratulations to the members of the Council and my warmest thanks to all who agreed to stand for election. I am edified by them all. A number of parishioners have approached me about some formal talks on topics of faith and practice such as Scripture, doctrine, sacraments, church history and governance, prayer, the saints, customs/traditions, etc. I would be glad to oblige. My thinking on this would be stand-alone talks on a particular topic or subject such as a saint, a single story from the Bible, a single sacrament, etc. Such topics, ideally, would be suggested by those who wished to attend. People could come to this talk or that one, without the necessity of being present for a series of talks. If there is an interest in such talks, please let me know or call the rectory during the week to record your desire. I feel that to make the prep, time and effort worthwhile then a minimum of 15 souls would be required for each session. If I can confirm the interest, I will get the first talk off the ground by late May. Pax Christi, Fr. Forsythia branches at the church entrances hold tags for popular items from which baskets are created. Gift cards and cash donations are also helpful.
